Yoga Nidra meditation is practiced in a lying down position. We will follow a series of breathing exercises and a body scan. By letting go of thinking and doing we relax into a state of feeling and being. Within a short time, you become submerged in the stillness of loving awareness. We welcome whatever happens without judgment, allowing the body and mind to let go of stress and relax deeply. Inspired by Amrit Desai.

My name is Gerald Blomeyer.

I wrote and recorded this podcast episode for you.

Opening up to love.

A yoga nidra meditation.

Lie down and make yourself comfortable.

If you need a blanket,

Put it next to you.

Rub the palms of your hands together vigorously.

When you feel the warmth of your palms,

Notice the life force flowing through your upper body,

Arms,

And hands.

Bring your palms to your face with no space between your fingers.

Rest your fingertips on your eyelids and let your palms touch your cheeks,

Nose,

Mouth,

And jaw.

Feel a radiant sensation in your palms,

Relaxing every muscle in your face.

Notice you've shifted your attention from thinking to feeling.

Slide your hands upwards until the palms rest on your eyes and feel your fingers on your forehead.

Feel the hands touching your face.

Slide them sideways to cover your temples and ears.

Feel the radiant sensation from your palms,

Relaxing the skin wherever your hands are.

If it feels good,

That's fine.

Now experiment.

Move the palms further down to support your chin or just feel your palms on your face.

Cover yourself with a blanket if you like.

Now you can relax and trust,

Releasing all thoughts and worries.

Take a deep breath in and exhale with a sigh,

Letting go of all tension.

Notice a deep calm and contentment arising in your heart.

Feel a radiant sensation spreading to every part of the body,

Relaxing tension.

Think of a heartfelt desire,

An intention.

What does your heart long for?

Maybe it's something like,

I am completely healthy and happy.

As you contemplate,

Imagine and feel that this wish is already fulfilled.

What does your life look like with this intention fulfilled?

Be grateful and let go.

Open your heart and mind to explore the love that resides within your body and being.

Observe everything coming and going in the vastness of consciousness.

Feel safe as you are held in stillness.

Feel the radiant sensations and merging with your energy body.

There's nothing to do.

Simply let all boundaries of body and mind flow.

Immerse yourself in the deepest state of silence,

Tranquility and peace.

On your next inhalation,

Breathe in without effort.

Hold your breath and count to five.

Exhale loudly and empty your lungs completely.

Continue to breathe this way two more times.

Let the inner wisdom of your body determine when you inhale.

Rest in stillness and let your breath flow naturally.

Now direct your attention to your face.

With the next exhalation,

Let go of any expression.

Relax the muscles behind your eyes.

Feel them soften.

Smile gently to further relax your face.

Loosen your jaw.

You can yawn if you wish.

Your cheeks are soft,

Your forehead smooth and your scalp relaxed.

Feel the radiant sensations in your face and head.

Feel the subtle and radiant sensations in the right shoulder,

Elbow,

Wrist,

Fingertips of the right hand,

Thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Small finger.

Feel the sensations in the right wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder and neck.

Welcome everything that arises.

Feel the subtle and radiant sensations in the left shoulder,

Elbow,

Wrist,

Fingertips of the left hand,

Thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger.

Feel the radiant sensations in the left wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder.

Welcome whatever appears.

Direct your attention to the center of your chest.

Feel the radiant sensations in the whole chest and the abdomen,

Pelvis.

Feel the radiant sensations in the right hip,

Knee,

Ankle,

Tip of the big right toe,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Little toe,

Back to the ankle,

Knee,

Pelvis.

Feel the radiant sensations in the left hip,

Knee,

Ankle,

Tip of the big left toe,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Little toe.

Feel the radiant sensations in the ankle,

Left knee,

Pelvis.

Move along the body's midline to the abdomen,

Heart,

Throat and head.

Let your attention naturally relax.

Let it expand and encompass the whole body at once.

Feel the whole body as space,

As a field of consciousness.

See the points that we've explored shining like stars in the night sky.

We are now here,

Resting as the consciousness that permeates the space.

Feel the stillness.

Notice the sensations in the whole body without naming or judging them.

They appear,

Change and dissolve in the vastness of consciousness.

Thoughts and feelings may arise and fade on their own.

There's nothing to do.

Everything comes and goes without effort.

Surrender,

Be open and relax further.

Remember,

The ideal state is the one you are experiencing now.

Give over the entire weight of the body to gravity.

The body is heavy.

Let it sink.

Each exhalation creates a cushion of life force surrounding the body.

It permeates the whole body as a pulsating,

Tingling field of energy.

There are no limitations,

Just grace and freedom.

Feel your past dissolving.

You're weightless,

Happy,

In harmony with yourself and the world around you.

Feel every cell of the body vibrating at a new frequency.

Dissolve into light and love.

Dive into the deepest relaxation.

All sensations,

Thoughts and images are like clouds in the clear sky,

Constantly merging and dissolving.

You are the space in which everything happens without effort.

Think of your heartfelt wish.

If you're unsure,

Simply observe what appears in consciousness.

Anchor this intention in your heart.

And feel that it has become reality at the deepest core of your being.

If feelings,

Images or words arise,

Allow yourself to welcome them.

Rest in presence.

Observe the body as it breathes by itself.

Slowly begin to rise up to the surface of consciousness,

Feeling the sensation of resting on the ground,

The quality of air touching your skin.

The body awakens as if from a deep,

Restful sleep.

Take your time.

Don't hurry.

When you're ready,

Begin to move your hands and feet.

In your own time,

Bend your knees and lie on your side with your eyes closed.

There's no hurry.

Once again,

Remember your heartfelt wish.

Feel how relaxed the body is and how content you are.

Allow your attention to turn to the heart.

Love is not an isolated event.

Allow your heart to be unconditionally open to all experiences arising in this space.

Allow yourself to radiate love and light with every aspect of your being.

This is the source of the wholeness that you are.

Choose to share this love with everyone you meet,

Today and tomorrow.

In your own time,

You may stretch and sit up.
