Welcome to this short session on mindful journaling with Tarot.
I'm Gail Carroll and today I'll guide you through how you can use Tarot cards as a powerful tool for reflection and personal growth.
Whether you're regularly drawing a single card or a three card spread,
This practice can help you tune into the wisdom of your inner voice and connect more deeply with your life's journey.
I tend to do a weekly three card spread and always set my attention with a question.
For instance,
What message do I need to hear from my Tarot guides this week?
This simple question opens up space for reflection and invites the cards to reveal insight that can help me navigate my week with clarity.
I usually draw three cards and read them as one progressive message.
For example,
The first card is where I am right now,
The second represents an action I need to take this week and the third card represents the outcome.
I then go to my journal and write down what the cards mean to me personally,
Helping me set intentions and focus my energy.
In addition to a weekly spread,
Pulling a Tarot card can be a wonderful way to check in with yourself and reflect on how you're feeling in the moment.
Each card holds a message or a theme,
Whether it's a reminder to trust your intuition,
Embrace change or find balance.
By jotting down your reflections in a journal you'll start to notice patterns and recurring themes offering you valuable insight into your journey over time.
If you pull a major Arcana card then it is showing you a big message for the day and to reflect on everything that card represents for you.
If it is a royal or minor card it is an action you need to take.
The beauty of combining Tarot and journaling is that it transforms this practice into something mindful and grounding.
It's not just about interpreting the cards,
It's about connecting with your own thoughts and feelings,
Exploring what's coming up for you and becoming more self-aware in the process.
It's a tool for self-coaching,
Empowering you to work through challenges,
Set goals and reflect on your growth.
If you're new to this start by pulling one card each morning,
Take a few deep breaths,
Shuffle your deck and ask yourself what do I need to know today?
Once you draw your card spend a few moments reflecting on its imagery,
Symbolism and message,
Then write down your thoughts.
What does this card make you feel?
How does it relate to where you are right now?
For a weekly spread a three-card draw works wonderfully.
I often pull cards for the following positions.
What's the theme for this week?
What challenges might arise and what should I focus on to move forward?
This gives you a balanced view of the week ahead,
Helping you set mindful intentions and stay aware of any potential challenges or opportunities.
When you journal using your tarot cards try to keep it personal to you,
Don't just write down standard card meanings.
Really reflect on how each card resonates with your experiences,
Emotions and thoughts.
Over time this practice deepens your connection with both the cards and yourself,
Allowing you to build a personal relationship with your tarot deck and its messages.
Some useful tips for getting the most out of this practice.
Firstly,
Create a space for your journaling time,
Free from distractions.
Secondly,
Keep your journal and tarot deck close by,
Make it easy to incorporate this practice into your routine.
Thirdly,
Be patient with yourself.
This is a journey of self-discovery and sometimes the meanings will unfold over time,
Even days after the reading.
Finally,
Remember the real magic lies in the consistency of the practice.
Whether you're pulling a single card each day or reflecting on the three-card spread,
This is a powerful way to connect with your intuition,
Align with your inner guidance and gain insight into your personal growth.
Thank you for joining me today.
I encourage you to take a moment for yourself,
Pick up your tarot deck and journal and begin this mindful journey of self-reflection.
Your tarot guides are ready to share their wisdom with you.
May the wisdom of the cards guide you to clarity,
Peace and purpose.
Until next time,
Keep your heart open and your intuition strong.
