This is a short 'Mindful Moment with Emotions' practice. It offers your kids a pause in their day to tune in and notice how they are feeling. It starts with focusing on the breath, followed by focusing on the sound of the Tibetan bowl, and lastly on how they are feeling. I hope you and your kids find it helpful.

A mindful moment with emotions for kids and adults.

So let's get our mindful bodies on.

Sitting open and upright,

Still and strong like a mountain.

Or if you're lying down,

Lie balanced and symmetrical.

Your hands are open,

Resting over your belly,

Resting in your lap.

Or if you're lying down,

You may have them by your side.

And if you haven't already done so,

Please close or lower your eyes.

And please take three delicious deep belly breaths to help calm your body and mind.

Now just let your breath settle.

Let your breath breathe you.

And shift your focus to listening to the sound of the bowl until you can no longer hear it ring.

And as we come towards the end of this mindful moment,

Gently ask yourself,

How am I feeling?

How am I feeling right now?

And with a gentle curiosity and some kindness,

Just begin to notice if there's any sensations in your body associated with how you're feeling.

And again,

Gently ask yourself,

How am I feeling right now?

And when you're ready,

You might like to start to reactivate and re-energise your body by wiggling your fingers and your toes,

Opening your eyes and going on your way.

Thank you.
