In this track I explore a conversation I had with a client where she saw that life doesn't need to be hard. We investigated what might happen if we follow joy, love, passion and excitement, rather than fear, insecurity and lack. My invitation is to tune into what is already here. What we are already good at and find easy. Because the more time we spend in the feelings of ease, contentment, joy and excitement the more of that we see in the world because the more of that we are putting into the world (listen to my track about where behaviour comes from!).

Welcome,

I'm Vicky Montague,

A wellbeing and possibility coach.

I spent most of my life confined by and led by my restricted negative thinking.

Now I share what I've discovered about living a life free from limits,

Reconnecting people to their unlimited potential to achieve what appears impossible.

Today I want to talk about a really interesting conversation that I've just had with an incredible client of mine.

And it was around how life doesn't need to be hard.

And what she saw in the conversation we had was that we can always follow the little sparks within us where there's fun,

Excitement,

Ease,

Joy,

Passion,

Love.

So in any moment we can notice what's easy.

I always say to clients that we miss so much of what's right in front of our noses.

So what for you is easy?

What comes easily to you?

What is joyful to you?

What is something that lights you up,

Something that excites you?

What is that thing?

Because we all have it when we look and we're honest.

And we dismiss it because we think,

Oh,

It's easy for everyone or it's nothing special.

But it's so easy to just think that those innate skills,

Those innate things that we have within us that we find easy,

We think everyone finds easy and they don't.

Look around you.

Consider what yours might be.

It might be that you find cooking easy.

It might be that you find talking to people easy.

It might be that you find making up systems or processes easy.

But look around you and notice that not everyone can do that.

And it's an incredible skill that you have.

And what would it be if you were to nurture that?

What would it be like if you were to spend some time giving that some love and noticing it for the uniqueness,

For the brilliance that it is?

And what would happen if you allowed yourself to put your attention there and follow that and allow that to become the thing that you do most of in your life?

Now,

Most of us have been brought up in the Western world to believe that work has to be hard.

We kind of learn from a young age we have to work hard.

You know,

We have to work so that we can earn the money so that we can do the things that we love.

And I guess what I'm suggesting is,

Well,

What if you can do the things that you love?

And then it doesn't feel like work.

And in that way,

Life doesn't need to be hard.

You don't have to work at being happy,

At being joyful,

At being excited.

Those things are innate within us.

We are born with those things.

We are born with peace.

We are born with happiness.

We're born with contentment.

We're born with joy.

Those things are there before any thoughts,

Any beliefs,

Any rules or conditioning or experiences that we've had.

They're before all of that.

And what if we can just tune more into that?

What if we can spend more time there?

Following what's fun and easy and just seeing where that leads us to.

So I'm going to leave that here.

I'm going to leave you with looking to see what's right in front of your nose.

What are the things right in front of you that are easy,

That you already know how to do,

That you're already brilliant at,

And that you're dismissing?

And what would it be like to nurture that?

What would it be like to put more attention in that?

What would it be like to imagine that becoming your new work,

Your new way of creating an income?

And then what would work be like?

Would work be hard or would work be fun?

And would we need to retire or would we just enjoy our work so much that there would be no requirement to stop?

So yeah,

I'd love you to just have an explore of that.

And do let me know in the comments what you see,

What your unique talents and skills and expressions are.

And how might you nurture those to become more of what you do in life?

I look forward to speaking again soon.

Bye.

What a beautiful outlook on life and how much fun will it be to discover or rediscover what gives me utter happiness and joy. Thank you for sharing this positive message.

Thank you for your thoughtful insights. I agree that we (humans) make life more difficult than it needs to be. This was a lovely reminder to be in the moment and find ease in life. The thing that is easy or natural for me is that I am nurturing. I love the thought to find a job that you love to do so you won’t want/need to retire. That is why I started my Reiki business so I will have something I love doing to put my energy into when I retire from my physically demanding job ( which I will do as long as possible because I also love doing it ). So for now, I do both! Thank you again for this talk. It puts things into perspective.

I just noticed I like problem solving at work. Outside work I like doing art. Now I see they are both being creative.

Wow, I absolutely loved that. It’s so easy to dwell on the things we can’t do and how wonderful to start noticing the things we’re good at!

Love these concepts that life and work doesn’t need to be hard. Yet we so often feel and make it that way. Rather investigate what we love to do, what we feel good at or comfortable doing and see where that leads us. Maybe a joyful job 😊?
