Leçon 1
What Is Emotional Eating?
Over the next 6 days, we will be looking at neuroscience and positive psychology to help you uncover the real reasons for your emotional eating.
Emotional eating is when someone uses food as a way to deal with their feelings.
Emotional eating is using food to comfort yourself, numb a painful emotion, or take your mind off feelings that are just too hard to face up to.
In an ideal world, we eat because we are hungry but reality can be very different.
We all eat emotionally at times. I know I still do but the difference in doing it occasionally and when it becomes something that takes over your life is why I’m sharing this course.
Today we will be finding out more about emotional eating and why we do it.
Leçon 2
It All Starts With Awareness
We can all have sabotaging beliefs and behaviors around food and possibly drink too.
Often these are completely unconscious but very predictable, and they can follow you.
We often sabotage ourselves for self-protection and self-preservation which doesn't make sense logically but this is all about seeking the answers from within.
If you don’t learn to understand and recognize your sabotages, you’ll find it hard to get past resistance and procrastination.
The key is to find your sabotages, so you can identify them when they happen and not let them take you off your path.
This can be a very difficult area to look at and it can bring up a lot of emotions, so I want you to be very gentle with yourself as you process the information we’re looking at today.
Leçon 3
How Do We Self-Sabotage?
Today, we’re going to look at what to do with the information we have discovered in yesterday's lesson.
What are your recurring sabotages? Because these are the ones you need to watch out for.
We’re now going to dig a little deeper.
You will need your journal again for the questions today.
Leçon 4
Our Old Stories
Today we’re going to take a look at those old stories behind emotional eating.
What were you told growing up or by others as a child, a teenager, or maybe as a young adult?
What is the original or old story?
Now this can take a bit of time, and patience is really important as well as being super gentle with yourself as we go through today's lesson. You may want to replay it a few times.
Leçon 5
Changing The Pattern
Do you have an inner saboteur?
The inner saboteur is the voice in your head that generates negative emotions in the way you handle life's everyday challenges.
Of course, we’re talking about how it affects our attempts to get to the weight we want and how we want to look and feel on this course. But it affects every area of our lives.
The inner saboteur represents automated patterns in your mind for how to think, feel, and respond.
It causes you stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, restlessness, and unhappiness.
Today we will get to discover your inner saboteur - the more aware we are of what's going on under the surface, the more we can start to challenge those beliefs with lots of self-compassion.
Leçon 6
You’ve Got This!
If you have been on this journey of working towards a body that is healthy and maybe slimmer for quite a while, it might be that you’re finding it hard to believe that you can do it this time.
There is a lot of self-doubt. I know how that feels...
Today, I will take you through a meditation inspired by Louise Hay’s teachings to support you with letting go of that self-doubt.
I truly hope that this course has helped you on your journey to literally change your thinking to change your body.
I am here to support you not just during the course but way beyond.
