Four-Part Path To Being Your Best Self

Ce que vous apprendrez
Life moves at a fast pace, and it's challenging for our minds and emotions to keep up. When we are stressed, our reaction to our circumstances is sometimes less than ideal. Through this four-part course, you'll learn a model to re-center yourself and skillfully respond to your circumstances. First, you'll learn the skill of awareness or mindfulness. Brief exercises can help you connect with the present moment, especially when you are overwhelmed. Next, you'll learn kindness toward yourself. Our inner voice can be so harsh, both toward ourselves and toward others; it's easy to assume the worst. A couple of kindness exercises will help re-train your auto-pilot to be more gentle. In the third session, you'll learn how the breath can change everything. Breathing exercises can be powerful, but so is simple breath awareness. Finally, in the last session, you'll learn the right question to ask yourself deeply, so that the answer guides your behaviors in the most skillful way possible.

Leçon 1
Awareness
In this first session, Awareness, you'll learn a simple practice of mindfulness to regularly check in with yourself internally. The practice is meant to cultivate non-judgmental awareness of yourself, how you're feeling, and what's going on. This is an important first step, and one to practice several times a day for a few days, journaling your findings, if you would like.
Leçon 2
Kindness
In this session, you'll learn two simple kindness practices to cultivate a gentle attitude towards yourself first and then toward others. It's also important, when considering kindness, to notice what you already have that's working for you—the ultimate kindness is knowing who you are at your best!
Leçon 3
Breath
The breath is so powerful and changes based on what we are experiencing in any given moment. What happens with your breath when you are happy, sad, stressed, or overwhelmed? It's important to notice and learn about your autopilot, so that then you can use the breath skillfully to shift out of a state to create greater balance and clarity. In this session, you'll learn just how to do that, and we will review your assignments so far.
Leçon 4
Question
In this final session, you'll learn the "magic" question (and its variants) to ask yourself before taking action. If you wish to live embodied as your most authentic self, this is an essential final step. It's okay not to be perfect, but practicing these steps regularly will help you live happier, with less regret and more joy.
