Leçon 1
Love
The basis for everything good springs from love, but the concept of love in our modern day and age may have many meanings, depending on who you ask. How do we walk in love when there are so many obstacles we face? What does walking in love entail? We will examine how to identify blocks to love and how we can practically overcome them.
Leçon 2
Peace
How do we discover lasting peace through truth and guarding our hearts against anything that disturbs our peace. How do we dwell in peace at a foundational level? Peace is a knowing. But knowing what? We will take a look at exactly what will bring peace into our lives for good.
Leçon 3
Joy
Joy is a heart posture rather than a feeling. What produces lasting joy? Joy does not strive, chase, seek, or depend on anything. Joy is not a destination, it is a state of being - an anchor. But happiness we cannot control. What is the difference between joy and happiness?
Leçon 4
Patience
Walking in patience saves a lot of time in the long run and helps us to “go with the flow”. How do we learn to practice patience in the age of instant gratification? What fruit does this end up producing in our lives? Sometimes working harder is not always the answer, but waiting patiently.
Leçon 5
Goodness
Is God good all the time? Does God allow things that are not good? Goodness is not something that we create on our own, rather, when we allow the Spirit to work in our lives we are able to see more clearly the goodness of God. We are never punished with evil.
Leçon 6
Faithfulness
Our faith is only as strong as its anchor. How do faithfulness and trust go hand in hand? What we magnify in our lives gets bigger. Walking in faithfulness helps to diminish areas that appear too large for us to handle.
Leçon 7
Kindness
“Be kind!” “It costs nothing to be kind.” These are popular phrases we hear in today’s society. But how are we to be kind to others when we find it so hard to be kind to ourselves? Kindness requires a measure of humility that may not always come naturally. From where does kindness ultimately come and why is it so difficult to practice on a daily basis?
Leçon 8
Gentleness
Gentleness leads to vulnerability. Vulnerability leads to authenticity. Does gentleness mean a lack of power or is it a calm, restrained power? Gentleness dissolves shame and fear. It is just as important for us to practice gentleness towards ourselves, so that we may show it to others.
Leçon 9
Self-Control
Self-control is the bedrock which all other fruits of the spirit spring from. When we exercise self-control, we will always encounter breakthrough. When we practice self-control in one area, it automatically influences all other areas of our lives. A lack of self-control can tend to create a spirit of greed and not being satisfied with what we already have. Greed can lead to a cycle of addiction and gets in the way of our destiny, joy, and progress.
Leçon 10
Fruits Of The Spirit As A Whole
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” {Galatians 5:22-23}
These virtues blend together to reflect the overall character of God, then are infused in us through the Holy Spirit. When we operate in one aspect of the Spirit, the others come more naturally. Because it takes discipline and forgiveness daily to walk in the fruits of the spirit, it is constantly softening our hearts and renewing our minds.
