Become A Better Communicator

The most well-known Buddhist teachers on the planet all have something in common: they are excellent communicators. This is not by accident, as the Buddha taught what are called the four elements of right speech over 2,600 years ago. In this course you'll learn the guiding principles to communicate in a kind, honest, and helpful way. Communication is essential to being human, and when you become better at it, your personal truth becomes clearer, your relationships improve, and the result is that you experience more peace and harmony in your life.

Leçon 1: The Elements of Right Speech

For you to be able to change your communication routine you first need to learn the purpose of communication and the guidelines for communicating in a kind, honest, and helpful way. In this lesson we dive into the elements of right speech and how they help us have the interactions we desire.

Leçon 2: Tell The Truth

In today's lesson you'll explore the first element of right speech in more depth, by learning why telling the truth is important for healthy communication and how to cultivate it within your interactions.

Leçon 3: Don't Exaggerate

In today's lesson you'll explore the second element of right speech in more depth, by learning why bringing balance to your conversations helps your interactions and then how to cultivate this quality within your communication.

Leçon 4: Don't Gossip

In today's lesson you'll explore the third element of right speech in more depth, by learning how gossip can be unhelpful in your interactions and how you can begin to let go of the habit.

Leçon 5: Use Helpful Language

In today's lesson you'll explore the fourth element of right speech in more depth, by learning what helpful language is and how to cultivate it.

Leçon 6: Meditate To Enhance Communication

Today we begin the first step in cultivating the practice of right speech. In this lesson you're introduced to meditation as a way to help enhance your communication.

Leçon 7: Forgiveness

To be able to speak in a kind, honest, and helpful way, you start by forgiving yourself for your previous way of interacting with yourself and others. In this lesson you begin to pay attention to the language you're using and learn to open yourself to a new way of communicating through forgiveness.

Leçon 8: Compassion

For your interactions to be helpful you want to learn to be there for others and to listen fully, even in difficult situations. In this lesson you learn to rouse compassion so you are able to extend it to yourself and others within your interactions.

Leçon 9: Awareness

To speak in a way that you respect, it's important to be aware of how you're using your words and language. In this lesson you learn how important it is to cultivate awareness.

Leçon 10: Self-Inquiry

Expressing yourself in a way that someone else can hear means you must know what you need to express. In our final lesson together you'll practice self-inquiry to help you cultivate clarity.

Very helpful course that is simple and easy to follow
