In this visualisation.
We'll be imagining the best possible outcome.
For you and your child.
So get comfy in your chair.
Make sure your feet are firmly on the ground.
And take a few deeper breaths.
Deeper than you've taken so far today.
And we're going to begin.
By imagining.
Imagining your child.
At age 25.
And we're going to imagine that they are thriving.
We're not going to change.
Anything particularly about our child.
At 25.
They still have the same quirks as they do now.
But they've found a way.
To thrive.
They found a way to flow.
With all of the things that they find tricky.
And they're making a really good go at life.
And so often,
As parents,
Our brains take us to the worst possible outcome.
And in this exercise,
We're just playing.
Playing with the best possible outcome.
And asking What if it all works out?
And it's quite likely.
That many things will work themselves out.
And it's quite a possibility.
That things will all go well.
That your child will be okay.
And we're allowing ourselves to play.
Playing with the best possible outcome.
And if there's any resistance to this,
We're going to be so kind and gentle with that resistance.
Because it's here to try to keep us safe.
And we're just gonna say hello to it.
I see you.
Thanks for coming to try to keep me safe.
But it's okay to play.
It's okay to play with the idea.
It might all be okay.
To play with the idea of the best possible outcome.
And now we're going to imagine how old you will be when your child is 25.
And imagining that you are thriving too.
And that you have a healthy,
Thriving relationship with your child.
And we're going to imagine the pathway.
Between where you are now.
And this future best possible outcome.
And we might trust in our capability.
Being a capable person who will figure things out.
And you have plenty of time.
You have so much time to figure this all out.
And you might imagine this line between where you are now.
And where your child is 25.
Even longer.
This is the journey of a lifetime.
And you have enough time.
You have enough time.
And you can return to this idea and this image.
Anytime you like.
Our brains often take us to the worst possible outcome.
So let's balance that out.
With imagining and playing.
With the idea.
That it just might be all okay.
