A standing practice, that guides you through the process of brushing or sweeping away heavy, negative, energy that you may be holding. Clear away stagnant feelings or the residue of an interaction that you are carrying in your physical body. Brush, shake and dance it out, letting the earth be the dustpan to collect what no longer serves you.

Welcome to your meditation practice with self-touch techniques.

This practice is done standing and is meant to create energy and create an energetic release.

So if you are looking for a little bit more of restorative rest,

This might not be the best for you.

If you are looking though to release any stuck,

Heavy energy,

Interactions,

The things that you just can't seem to let go of,

This touch technique of brushing might be what you're looking for.

What you will need is some space to move the body and to stand up freely.

So when you are ready,

Just meet me standing.

Your feet firmly planted into the floor in a comfortable stance that's perhaps hip distance or even wider.

Not locking into the knees but adding a soft bend.

Underneath the mound of the big toe,

The pinky toe and the heel are pressing down into the earth.

And from that foundation you are lifting up into the crown of the head.

The arms just hang by your side with your eyes open.

Just take a moment to resource yourself,

To acquaint yourself in the room that you find yourself in.

You can turn your head left and right and up and down a few times here as you take in your environment.

Come back to stand,

To neutral,

Gazing out in front of you.

And start to place one hand onto the chest and one hand onto the stomach,

Onto your belly.

The eyes can remain open for this portion or if you would feel more comfortable closing the eyes,

Please do so.

Start to breathe into the hands.

Breathe up into the chest and feel that expansion.

Exhale,

Let it out.

Breathe deep into the pit of your stomach.

Feel the belly expand.

Let it all out.

Breathe equally into both the stomach and the chest.

The whole body reaches outwards and exhale,

It softens back in towards itself.

Take three more breaths as you need and how you need.

The next portion of this,

I will be instructing the brushing or the sweeping of your body.

There will not be necessarily breath cues for you,

So please breathe as you need to in order to comfort yourself.

It is normal for audible noises,

For loud moans and grunts and screams to come out when we do energetic brushing,

So know that that is encouraged and invited.

Starting with your left hand and your left arm,

Reach the left arm straight out in front of you so that the left forearm and bicep is parallel to the floor.

Your palm is facing down,

So left palm faces down to the floor.

Taking now your right hand,

Your right palm,

Starting at the top of your left shoulder,

Brush down the top of the left arm.

Brush,

Brush,

Brush,

You're sweeping,

You're pushing,

You're pulling energy out.

Top of left shoulder,

Brush to left fingertips.

Two more.

Flip the left palm now to face up towards the ceiling and again using that right hand,

Right palm,

Brush now from the left armpit to the left palm,

Sweep,

Push.

And three more.

Allow the left arm to fall and the right arm to fall.

Sound yourself two breaths.

We repeat with the right arm now,

So lift that right arm up,

Right palm is facing towards the floor,

Right fingertips extending forward.

Take your left hand now,

Lift it up and we brush from that right shoulder down to the right fingertips,

Brush.

Exhales tend to follow and link up well with a brush,

But again find breath that works for you.

Two more.

Still with the right hand,

Flip the right palm to face the sky so the underside of your right arm is now facing up.

We use the left palm to brush from our right armpit to the right fingertips,

We brush.

Two more,

Brush.

Stop the hands,

Feel into the shoulders,

The back body.

From here we take both of our palms now and we bring them into the center of the chest,

Into our sternum.

You don't want palm on top of palm,

But you more want them kind of next to each other.

So almost like finger pads meeting in the center.

Press down with gentle pressure here into the sternum,

The center of the chest and then we're brushing out.

So we'll be pulling our hands out towards the armpits and then flicking our kind of wrists and our fingertips to the side.

So you pull from the center of the chest across the top of the chest and of our pecs and then flick the wrists fingertips out.

So sweeping across the chest,

Sweep and sweep.

You can do one hand at a time or both together.

Five more times,

Sweep like you're pulling that stuck energy from your heart,

The heaviness and pull it out,

Up and out.

Last one,

Drop the hands.

From here,

Final sweeping exercise for us today.

Taking your hands up towards the top of your head,

The crown of your head.

Again,

Be mindful of the hair,

But from here,

You'll start to draw your hands along the outline of the face,

The outline of the tops of the shoulders,

Down the outline of your torso and when you get to those hip bones,

Sweep out.

So again,

Palms up to the crown of the head,

Draw the hands down the outline of the face,

Pressure sweeping the outline of the torso to the hips,

Brush it out,

Brush it out and like you're bathing yourself,

You're pouring water over the face and that water trickles down the outline of the face,

The torso,

Brush it out.

Three more times.

We finish with brushing of the legs,

The front of the legs.

So using both palms,

Interlace the fingertips starting at the hip crease of the right leg.

You will bend the leg and lift it up towards you,

Brushing along the top of the thigh,

Placing the foot back down and brushing down towards the calf and out.

So again,

Bending the right knee up so that you can brush with your palms from the right hip crease along the top of the thigh with pressure down to the calf and out.

Brush the legs for three,

For two and one.

On the left side again,

Fingertips interlace using the palms of your hands,

That left hip crease,

We brush the top of the left thigh down to the calf and out.

Use pressure brush and sweep,

Sweep.

For three,

Last two,

Last one,

Ground into the body.

Take a big inhale and a big exhale.

Big breath in,

Big breath out.

And now start to shake the fingertips,

Shake the wrists,

Shake the arms,

Start to bounce in the legs,

Bouncing on the balls of the feet from one to the other.

Keep shaking and moving your body,

Moving that energy,

That heaviness,

That frustration and irritation,

The weight that you carry around you of the world of other people,

Of interactions.

Shake it,

Shake it up,

Shake it out.

Jumping,

Screaming,

Exhaling,

Release that in your body,

Moving the arms,

Moving the legs,

Moving the head for three,

For two,

For one.

Let's pause.

Raise your hand onto your heart,

Raise your hand onto your stomach.

Breathe up into the chest,

Feel the expansion.

Let it out.

Breathe down into the deep pits of your stomach,

Allow the belly to expand.

Feel it softens.

Breathe together into the stomach,

The chest,

Into your body and out.

Keep breathing here.

With your eyes open,

Once again,

Start to resource yourself in the environment,

In the room,

Turning ahead left and right.

When you feel complete and ready to go,

You just drop the hands and you walk forward into the rest of your day,

Leaving the energy,

Whatever it is that you're holding behind you.

Let the earth be the dustpan to pick up the pieces that you swept off of you.

One final inhale and exhale.

I really enjoyed this energetic brushing, sweeping and cleansing practice. Thank you for offering this technique! I will return to this often. Could you tell me how many repetitions are done with each body part? Also, is there any significance to the number of repetitions? Thank you so much. Many blessings to you πŸ™πŸ«ΆπŸ™‚βœ¨πŸ’«πŸͺ·
