Merry meet the lovely people it is Nina you're watching Fairy Chamber Channel first of all I want to thank all of you who have subscribed to my channel recently and those of you who have sticked with me for a longer time I really appreciate to all your support.

This character is known as Domovoi and Domovoi is extremely popular character in Slavic folklore and myths it is a very common house spirit.

Same way as in many other countries and cultures Domovoi could also change his or her appearance into an animal most of time as a cat or a dog.

A female Domovoi is called Domovika Kicimora.

All the people who watch this and speak Slavic languages if I am pronouncing these names completely wrong I apologize and Domovoi was usually a male figure that was small man completely covered with gray hair and sometimes Domovoi had horns but that horn appeared Domovoi was usually a pre-christian deity more related to the pagan fertility gods which you can find pretty much all over Europe really and Domovoi they usually lived in the stove or under thresholds very dark places and also remote places they could live in a stable or in the cattle shield.

The female Domovoi,

The Domovika,

They would usually live in the hen houses and hence many times they are connected to women and birds in general in many cultures are connected to female attributes who knows why.

Many times Domovoi could have been an Oracle and tell the future so people would might ask questions from Domovoi if they were if they had good relationship to their house spirits they might ask questions from Domovoi and they might give them answers about the future if they had some urge to know about the future and in good times Domovoi was a nice house spirit they might laugh and sing even make jokes and dance and then in the bad times they might tease the people of the house or if the people were rude to the Domovoi they might do lots of damage and really take revenge on the inhabitants of the house but this is very universal you can find things around the world with different house spirits that when the people were happy then usually also the house spirit was happy and when the people were depressed or there was some bad things going on usually the mood of the people was reflected to the mood of reflects reflected also to the mood of the house spirit so they were in a way always connected and I'm not hundred percent sure about the Domovoi character is it the same as in Northern Europe and in Baltic countries that those house spirits they were many times seen as the ancestors so the people who know about this leave a comment and let's have discussion about it I'd really like to know more about this but I don't know maybe there is also connected to connections to the ancestors many times while it comes to these nature spirits and house spirits there is some kind of elements that are going all the way back to the shamanistic times when people worship nature and different invisible spirits were surrounding people all the time and Domovoi people sacrificed Domovoi milk and porridge also tobacco and bread and salt things that were really kept in high value in the old times especially salt and bread and sometimes Domovoi could have been a poltergeist and in that case but Domovoi was known as Babarasha the poltergeist and poltergeist ritual means a nasty spirit and evil spirit a medicine spirit that was really haunting a house and daunting to people who lived in the house
