Welcome.
This is a meditation that you can use when you feel that your mind is caught up with worries and you just want to put them down for a moment.
Just to give yourself some clarity and a step back.
Create a little bit of distance between all the things that are going on in your mind and what's actually here,
Taking you back into the present moment.
So let's begin.
If you're in a chair,
You might just want to put your shoulders down,
Drop them away from your ears and uncross your legs and having your feet flat on the floor.
And if you're lying down,
Then maybe just get comfortable and relax your arms and your hands right beside you.
You don't need to do this in any particular way.
Just find whatever is comfortable for you.
And then if you want,
You can close your eyes or cast down your gaze.
And let's start by taking a deeper breath in.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Breathing in.
And maybe exhaling and just letting it out with a sigh.
Breathing out.
Breathing out.
Letting go.
And just take a few more breaths like that for yourself.
And whatever has been on your mind today,
The worries,
The what-ifs,
The shoulds,
The coulds,
Just for now,
Feel that you can put them down.
They'll still be there if you need them later,
But right now,
This moment is just for you.
And then take a few more slow breaths.
And with each one,
Just feel yourself connecting to the present moment.
And try and let those worries behind.
Just for now.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Breathing out.
And now,
I want to invite you to bring your mind to a place where you have felt truly calm.
Your happy place.
And this might be somewhere where you've actually been.
A beach or a hillside or a lovely garden.
A favourite spot maybe from your childhood.
But it can also be somewhere that you've seen in a photograph and where you've always wanted to go.
Wherever it is,
Just try and see if you can go there now in your imagination.
And let yourself arrive there.
Maybe have a look around.
Just take it all in.
The sounds,
The smells,
The beauty.
Perhaps the quietness.
And then picture yourself sitting somewhere comfortable.
Perhaps looking out over this beautiful landscape.
Maybe there's water.
Or it's open countryside.
Or there are mountains or there's a beach.
Whatever your place looks like.
Just sitting down and enjoying wherever you are right now.
Really soaking up that calmness,
That peacefulness.
And then feeling a gentle breeze touching your face.
Feel the warmth of the light around you.
Brightening you up from the outside in.
And as you're sitting there in your comfortable spot,
Letting this calmness,
The calmness of this beautiful place,
Begin to move through you.
See if it can move through your mind,
Your body,
And your emotions.
You're absorbing all this calmness and this beauty.
It's as if the quietness of this landscape is becoming the quietness inside you.
And take a breath in and really deepen that feeling.
Let it reach all of you.
Your senses,
Your nervous system,
And all the places where you've been holding tension.
See if you can breathe in all that calmness there.
And no matter what is going on in your daily life right now,
In this moment,
You feel anchored.
You feel steady and calm.
And from this place of calmness,
Stillness,
Allow yourself to also feel a quiet sense of trust building,
Growing inside of you.
Trust about your life.
And just notice how that feels,
This small sensation.
This softening,
This sense that you're not going through this alone,
But that there's something in you.
This calm,
This steady presence that is there within you always.
Always.
And see yourself moving into this new way of being.
And that's not a perfect life with no challenges,
But it's you who moves through those challenges from a place of calm,
Rather than worry or fear.
It's you that trusts the process a little more,
That trusts yourself.
And feel that calmness and trust now in the soles of your feet.
Feel it in the palms of your hands.
Feel it in your heart.
And when you're ready,
I invite you to speak these words after me,
Either out loud or quietly in your mind.
I am living in trust,
Not in fear.
I'm allowed to be a work in progress.
And no matter what happens,
I can face it.
Just letting these affirmations be absorbed for a moment by you.
Let all this trust,
This trust,
This faith in yourself be completely absorbed.
And as we come to the end of this meditation,
Let's just take a few more breaths together.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
And then taking your time,
In your own time,
When you're ready,
Maybe starting to wiggle your toes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Opening your eyes when that feels right for you,
And perhaps having a nice stretch.
And I hope that you can carry this calmness with you during your day.
And remember that it's always there.
You can always access it.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
And thank yourself for taking the time for this meditation,
For taking time for yourself.
Go gently.
Go gently.
I wish you a wonderful morning,
Afternoon or evening.
Take care.
