This is a short meditation for when you feel like you are putting pressure on yourself,
Maybe comparing yourself to others,
That you should be moving faster and be further along than when you actually are.
So this meditation helps you to take yourself back to the present moment and to see what is actually here right now.
So finding your comfortable meditation posture and gently closing your eyes,
Take a slow breath in and a long easy breath out.
And there's nowhere you need to be right now.
This time is yours.
And I'd like to invite you to think about an area of your life where you've been wishing that things would move faster.
Maybe it's your career,
A relationship,
Your health or maybe a goal that you've been working towards,
A dream that feels like it's taking too long.
And just notice where that feeling lives,
Where in your body do you feel that pull,
That quiet pressure to be further along than you are.
Just noticing that for a few moments.
And now I'd like you to take a breath and invite the wiser,
Calmer part of you into this moment.
This is that wise part of yourself,
The one that has navigated hard times before,
That has grown in ways that you couldn't have predicted.
That version of you,
The one that has already come so far,
Is right here with you now.
Because it's worth considering that everything that has happened in your life,
Every twist,
Every delay,
Every challenge,
Every unexpected turn,
Has brought you to this exact moment.
And this moment is not nothing.
This moment is yours.
And think about how far you've come,
Not in comparison to anyone else,
But just you,
Your own journey,
Your own path.
All the things you've learned,
The things you've handled,
The version of you that showed up even on the hard days.
And that is worth something.
That is worth a lot.
Because something wonderful happens when we stop pushing against the natural flow and rhythm of things.
There is more ease,
More joy,
And we start to notice what's actually good in our life,
What's already here,
What we might have been too busy or too pressured to see.
So now let's move into gratitude together.
And I invite you to think of something in your life right now that you're grateful for.
Or a person that you're grateful for,
Or a loved pet.
Just take a moment to think of that.
And let that feeling of gratitude settle into your chest.
Breathe it in.
Let it really be there.
And from that place of warmth and appreciation,
Look ahead.
Not with pressure,
But with trust in yourself.
Your life is unfolding.
Your timing is not wrong.
And let things be as they are.
You are exactly where you need to be.
And take a deep breath in.
And a long,
Slow breath out.
And as we're coming to the end of this meditation,
Slowly moving your senses more into the outside world.
Maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes,
Becoming aware of the sounds.
Take your time.
And thank you for meditating with me today.
Go gently.
And take care.
