Hello friend,

My name is Erica and I'm going to guide you into nature so we can take a gentle rest for a few minutes in the midst of our day.

Let your body rest on the cushion or chair.

It's okay if you'd like to stand or walk.

We are going to use the power of our imaginations to take us in to the blissful,

Peaceful place of nature.

I invite you to walk the path through the woods.

Hear the sound of the leaves crackling under your feet.

Feel yourself resting on the ground with each step.

Notice the plants and trees along the path as you walk by and feel the dappled sunlight,

The warmth of the sun on your skin.

And now you've come to a clearing,

A wide open meadow,

And along the perimeter are redwood trees everywhere.

And you have found a clearing in the woods.

And let yourself find the perfect place to rest.

You might lay just in the middle of the meadow in the tall soft grasses.

You might sit under a tree resting your back on its trunk.

Find the place that feels most nourishing and peaceful for you.

And let yourself sink in to the land knowing the earth is holding you.

She is welcoming all of your stress,

Your tensions,

Your fears and anxieties.

And you can just lay them down.

The earth is holding them.

And in this moment you can just be.

You are perfect as you are.

Just let yourself be in these woods.

Letting yourself breathe at your own pace.

Knowing that the air around you is so clean and plentiful that the trees are providing this beautiful clean air.

And you are breathing effortlessly.

You know that the air touching your skin is coming in through each pore.

And just feel that air.

Notice if it's warm or cool.

If there's a gentle breeze or if there's a stillness.

Listen to the sounds that are close.

Maybe you can hear the leaves dancing in the breeze or some squirrels nearby playing.

And listen to the sounds in the distance.

There might be some birds overhead or a hawk screeching high up in the sky.

And with another deep breath in and a long exhale just feel yourself relaxing even more into this place.

And I will read you this poem by Nikita Gill.

One day when you wake up you will find that you've become a forest.

You've grown roots and found strength in them that no one thought you had.

You have become stronger and more beautiful.

Full of life-giving qualities.

And you have learned to take all the negativity around you and turn it into oxygen for easy breathing.

A host of wild creatures live inside you and you call them stories.

A variety of beautiful birds nest inside your mind and you call them memories.

You have become an incredible self-sustaining thing of epic proportions.

And you should be so proud of yourself.

Of how far you have come from the seeds of who you used to be.

You have become an incredible self-sustaining thing of epic proportions.

And you should be so proud of yourself.

Let yourself feel the roots between your body and the ground.

These roots go deep into the earth connecting with the roots of all of the redwood trees around you.

And the trees are so incredible because through their root system they can share nutrients.

And here you are connected receiving the nutrients of the redwood trees,

Their ancient wisdom,

Their healing powers.

Really let yourself soak in the magic and the love of nature.

And with the next breath inhale feeling that sense of gratitude.

The gratitude that we are all connected.

The gratitude that we have access to this place in nature at all times through the power of our imagination.

And let yourself slowly get up from your place and walk back through the woods noticing all of the colors of the leaves,

The sounds of the forest.

And just let yourself walk back to your day taking with you the pace of nature.
