It's time for bed now.
Time for stretching,
Settling,
And breathing.
Your body has been busy with learning and growing.
It's time to let all of that go for now and to head off to meet your dreams.
Find everything you need to get cozy in your space.
If there's something you've forgotten,
Like a drink of water or a bedtime friend,
Go get it now and come right back.
Close your eyes.
Let your body breathe in and out,
In and out,
In and out.
We are going to imagine something together to help your body get ready for rest.
Imagine that you found yourself standing at the edge of a beautiful forest.
It has gorgeous tall trees.
Birds are singing.
You smell flowers.
There is a path in front of you.
It looks so inviting.
You take off your shoes to feel the ground on your feet.
How does the ground feel?
Hard?
Soft?
Cool?
Just notice.
However it feels to you is okay.
As you begin to walk down the path,
Soft moss cushions your feet.
It's not dark just yet,
But the sun has begun to set and fireflies dance above and around you.
They light the path for you,
Keeping you company.
As you walk along the path,
You notice that you start to hear water.
You come across a stream weaving through the trees.
You sit on the bank of the stream and you hear a tiny frog go,
Ribbit.
What color is the frog?
He is sitting and waiting for something.
He's hungry.
Imagine that one thought from your mind,
Something you're letting go of from your day,
Buzzes out of your mind like a fly.
It flies close to the frog and zip!
The frog's tongue catches it.
He's still hungry.
You send another thought over to the frog and slurp.
He eats that one too.
Keep letting thoughts buzz over to the frog until his belly is full.
Keep letting go of emotions from your day,
Happy or sad,
That might be distracting your body from sleep.
If there are any feelings too,
You can feed those to the frog.
That's exactly why he is there.
Once the frog is full,
Thank him for his help and blow him a kiss.
You notice that it's much darker now,
But the moon is bright.
A cloud of fireflies travels over the stream and scoops you up.
It carries you home,
Right back to your cozy bed.
You are snug.
You are capable.
You are loved.
Rest well,
Sweet one.
