For a lot of us, anxiety was the thing we drank at. The racing thoughts, the tight chest, the 3am spiral—we numbed it, outran it, or pretended it wasn't there. And when we ditched the drink, the anxiety didn't just disappear. It got louder before it got quieter. Here's the reframe we're exploring this week: what if anxiety isn't the enemy? What if it's a messenger—an overprotective friend who's trying (clumsily, loudly, at the worst possible moments) to keep you safe? When we stop fighting anxiety and start getting curious about it, something shifts. It loosens its grip. We can hear what it's actually trying to tell us—and respond with compassion instead of a drink, a scroll, or a spiral.
