Lektion 1
DAY 1: Feet
Our feet help us to balance when standing, walking, and running, and to effectively anchor us in place. In our first class together, we’ll cover optimum practice posture and best listening techniques for sound meditation, before mindfully scanning the anatomy of the feet and using sonic reinforcement to help restore a sense of balance to this area.
Sounds Include - Didgeridoo and soothing singing bowls in C
Lektion 2
DAY 2: Knees
The knees are the largest joints in the body. They provide power to lift us, and flexibility while in motion. In this class we will take our time mindfully exploring the knees and smoothing out places where stagnant energy may be affecting our flexibility.
Lektion 3
DAY 3: Pelvis
The pelvis houses and protects the reproductive organs, articulates with the lower spine at the sacrum, and with the femur bones of the thighs. Essentially, it's the floor of the belly and the ceiling of the lower limbs. Our practice with this area will engage the imagination for a light use of color therapy, visualizing vibrant shades of red as we rotate our breath awareness through this area.
Lektion 4
DAY 4: Belly
The belly, holds most of the digestive organs and glands. It's not at all cliche to consider that we all began our existence within a belly and often it's considered as the seat of creativity. A little more color therapy here with shades of bright orange and vibrant hues of yellow as we expand our mindful awareness through the belly.
Sounds Include - Gong song and singing bowls in D
Lektion 5
DAY 5: Heart
Once theorized as the seat of emotions, modern science tells us that the heart is responsible for keeping blood flowing through the body, and is primarily responsible for generating an electro-magnetic field around the body. With a little science-based use of the imagination, for this class, we'll flow through the body as a red blood cell! *Earbuds are highly recommended for this class to highlight the sound of the heartbeat. Note: It's actually the aortic artery that innervates the body by running this course and not individual blood cells.
Lektion 6
DAY 6: Arms & Hands
A primary job of our arms and hands are to help us with precise fine motor movements. In our work, when we use our mental focus to align the task at hand, with the breath, we’ll eventually come to notice a shift in awareness referred to by many as “The Flow” state. In this class, we'll use an abbreviated form of body rotation, inspired by the Ayurvedic practice of yoga nidra, to move our awareness through the arms and hands to help create a visceral flow of energy.
Lektion 7
DAY 7: Throat
The throat, like other parts of the body, has several really interesting things happening, but for a relatively small part of the body. Our emphasis for this class is on how we use this area in tandem with the mouth, to create intelligible speech and otherwise express our own unique sound. Shades of blazing blues can help to bring this practice to life.
Lektion 8
DAY 8: Head
In this class we reflect mindfully on the brain and the senses. Our brains play a major role in maintaining the body's homeostasis and is constantly discerning and exchanging information with the senses. The closing sound meditation for this class is specifically structured to resonate the skull cavity so again headphones or ear buds are highly recommended for this one.
Lektion 9
DAY 9: Spine
Our class series appropriately culminates with an area that has ties with all other areas of the body. The average spine has 33 bones that naturally stack into 4 curves, bearing a strong resemblance to a "standing wave." In mindfully exploring this fascinating area of the body, we'll breathe while focusing along an imaginary core channel of energy, (called Sushumna by some,) as we elongate the four syllables of aum.
