What is your purpose? Many times its not those big glamorous dreams but purpose oftentimes can be found in the daily " mundane " activities. This spoken word talk is here to inspire us to expand our consciousness, so that we find sacredness and purpose in everything we do. Imagine how life would feel like if we were to actually feel and experience living our purpose in our everyday life, starting from the smallest seemingly insignificant moments of our day.

I watered the plants today.

I didn't save the world,

I had something important to say.

I watered the plants today.

I didn't make new friends,

I didn't have any plans.

I watered the plants today.

No meetings,

No big dreaming,

No posts,

No live streaming.

I watered the plants today.

I didn't find any solution to a big problem,

I didn't consult with anyone to solve them.

I watered the plants today.

I didn't check it off my list,

I didn't worry what else I have missed.

I watered the plants today.

There was no big fuss,

No class,

No glitter,

No shining,

No bitter,

No whining.

I just watered the plants today.

Today,

I expand the borders of what I perceive as sacred,

And redefine what the world sees as you made it.

I strip all the external naked so everybody can see the internal as sacred.

I will push the borders of purpose so far out that I will see purpose in every passing cloud.

That in every desire,

Thought,

Emotion and action,

There's the entire world reflected in a tiny fraction.

That there is no small,

It's all in our perception,

And I push the borders of my perception to perceive the perfection.

That purpose is everywhere and all around us.

Allow the presence within to ground us.

I'm expanding the borders of what I perceive as sacred,

And I learn how to live a life alert and awakened.

Divinity all around,

There's no place that purpose cannot be found.

I watered the plants today.

It was a sacred act.

It served the insect,

The bee that can bite to sip from the nectar.

She was invited in because I pushed the border by one more hectare.

She went off and in return produced sweet honey that was someone else's livelihood and money.

That in return was put on the grocery shelf,

Its smallest action that never just helping oneself.

The honey picked by a caring wife that had quite some drama in her life.

Her kids gone crazy,

Her husband sick with a sore throat,

All in one tiny apartment sitting in the same boat.

She came home,

Made him her tea,

Added a spoonful of the sweet honey.

It made him feel better and filled with gratitude.

It changed his mood and slowly his attitude.

He said words of praise to his wife and his children,

And the little bee continued to travel like a pilgrim.

I watered the plants today.

I expanded the borders of sacredness and purpose.

I'm expanding the borders of holiness,

Redefined for myself what holy is.

There's not one day that is exactly the same.

Everything has meaning.

There is no mundane.

I watered the plants today.

Beautiful message and poem. Lovely meditation for those navigating the journey of having some “big purpose” versus just simply allowing being alive to be purposeful enough. The mundane is not mundane. 🤍

Wow I love this poem! It's very expressive of how I approach life and brings to mind a poem I wrote called The Beautiful Mundane. "No glitter no shining no bitter no whining" is such a lovely expression of the Way. And the part about the bees and honey speaks my heart language. Thank you Daniel Love and blessings to you

Amazing, so inspirational. I really don't like when people say and believe that a person cannot change the world, when infact we all are changing it every day, some with good action, some with bad. But every action is a change and it matters.

I will use this as a mantra “I watered the plants today” to remind myself that any action, however “small” has purpose and meaning. Much love. ❤️

Strong... everyday does not have to be the most impactful day imaginable, somedays just "watering the plants " is enough. So well done, thank you

Thank you for this. I’m at a time of great change in my life and trying to find my next “life assignment”. You reminded me that everything I do with love contributes to my purpose and I may contribute in ways I’m not even aware of. Beautiful.
