Welcome to this short practice for gratitude.
You can start by settling into a seat or lying down and finding yourself in a comfortable position,
Making any adjustments as you need.
And if you feel comfortable doing so,
Closing your eyes,
Otherwise softening your gaze.
I invite you to start to notice the sensations in your body.
Feeling what is supporting you from below.
And allowing the surface to really catch you.
As you exhale,
See if you can really elongate that exhale.
While doing so,
Letting your body sink even further into what is supporting you from below.
Noticing the movement in your body as you exhale.
Allowing just a bit more surrender on that exhale.
Next,
I invite you to bring to mind something that you are grateful for.
This can be anything big or small.
Perhaps a person,
A place,
A thing.
A pet,
Or anything else.
And as you hold this in your mind.
See if you can really imagine what it looks like.
If it has an appearance,
Any shapes,
Colors,
Or textures.
Or see if you can notice any sounds associated with this.
Or perhaps there's a feeling that comes with it.
Really invite life.
And detail.
To that which you are grateful for.
And as you allow this space for this to grow in your mind,
In your imagery,
And what you can hear.
Or taste.
Or touch.
Or smell.
Or feel.
Invite you to notice what,
If any,
Sensations may arise in your body.
See if you can simply allow that sensation to exist.
With no need to alter it or move it or speed it up.
Observing it exactly how it is.
Being with that sensation.
Perhaps as you breathe in,
You can direct your breath to that area,
To that sensation.
Or if you'd like to,
You can bring a hand to that area of your body.
And just be here with this.
You can stay here for however long you would like to.
Otherwise,
You can close this practice with me now.
I would also invite you to see if you can notice anything else that you are grateful for as you move through your day.
And when you do,
Perhaps you can invite presence inward.
And experience the sensation that comes along with that gratitude.
Just let it be.
Thank you for being here and enjoy the rest of your day.
