Welcome to this short morning practice to dedicate ourselves to God,

To receive the Holy Spirit.

Today's practice revolves around the mantra,

Holy Spirit come.

First,

Find yourself in a comfortable position.

Open up your hands,

Place your palms upwards in a posture to receive.

We are here to present ourselves to God and receive from Him.

I would like you to notice your breath.

Notice the ins and the outs.

And acknowledge that every breath comes from God.

Thank Him for your ability to breathe.

The breath acts as a bridge between the physical and the spiritual.

And as we draw attention to our breath,

Start paying attention.

I want you to start breathing in a regular pattern.

As you inhale,

Count to four.

And as you exhale,

Count to six.

And as you breathe,

I want you to invite the Holy Spirit in.

I want you to visualize being filled on the inhale.

And on the exhale,

Surrendering.

I'm going to introduce a phrase which I found helpful in focusing my heart and focusing my mind on receiving the Holy Spirit.

And it is simply,

Holy Spirit come.

So as you exhale,

Say,

Holy Spirit come.

Breathe in the Holy Spirit.

As you welcome in the Holy Spirit,

He may try and speak to you.

Listen out for His voice.

And take note of what He might be saying.

Start to unwind,

To wriggle your fingers,

To move your hands,

To roll your wrists.

To start rolling your shoulders back.

Just take time as we finish to acknowledge God and ask for the Holy Spirit to be with you the rest of the day.
