It's time to release now.

Releasing our ego in perfectionism.

Perfectionism can show up in our lives in so many forms.

It can disguise itself in self-help books,

In over-performing at our jobs,

In constantly trying to grow or level up.

Perfectionism is nothing more than an illusion that keeps us tied to comparison.

Maybe you try and find the perfect job or have a perfect body,

Cook a perfect meal,

Or do a perfect workout,

Have a perfect meditation.

Whatever this may look like for you,

It is only a distraction that keeps us away from ourselves.

Unsettled in what is here and now in this present moment,

We can learn so much from nature.

Nature has this innate ability to grow and to expand without expending energy.

When we focus our attention on perfectionism in its many forms,

We are expending energy to grow.

But as we can learn and witness from nature,

True authentic growth does not need to expend so much energy.

To grow,

Instead,

We need to accept ourselves,

Love ourselves,

Fully as we are right here and right now.

When finding space inside of you to love the being that has the desire to be perfect.

For acceptance of what we already are,

Rather than fighting for what we could be,

We are able to free up energy for true expansion.

When we love and we accept ourselves,

And love and accept our neighbors just the same,

Rather than trying to compare or do better than everyone else,

That's when we can let go of perfectionism.

The ego lives here.

Let's close our eyes if we haven't already and take a few deep long breaths.

Inhale for a count of four,

Holding it at the top,

And then exhaling for a count of six.

Inhale for a count of four,

Holding it at the top,

And then exhaling for a count of six.

We'll do this one more time before you allow yourself to just breathe naturally.

Inhale again,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

As you settle into this present moment,

Into whatever space you are taking up today,

Make sure you are comfortable.

Maybe you're lying down,

Maybe your legs are up the wall,

Wherever you are,

Find stillness and ease in this moment.

I love myself just as I am now in this present moment.

I even love the part of me which desires to be perfect.

In all my colors,

Shapes,

Sizes,

Forms,

I am here.

My purpose is not to win,

Dear one.

My purpose is not to be the most,

The best,

The brightest.

Instead,

I use my energy for light and for love,

To be grateful for myself in this very moment.

And in turn,

I extend that love,

Gratitude,

And light to all of those who surround me.

I am here to act as a vessel of love.

The mountains and the hilltops don't compare their size.

Animals don't compare the color of their hair or fur or feathers.

Plants unaware of the uniqueness of their blooms.

Instead,

Nature lives as a cohesive unit in harmony,

Giving and taking exactly what it needs to thrive.

Learn from nature.

Perfectionism is a form of comparison that leaves us in disease.

Let go of it.

Let go of your need to attain anything that you don't already have.

You are perfect just as you are.

We know this to be true,

Yet we ignore it.

Instead,

Dear one,

Sit with it.

Your heart beats.

Your blood flows.

Your breath travels all in perfect harmony,

Exactly as it needs,

Without manipulation or control.

Your body is just like nature.

Seize control rather than grasping for it.

Your desire to be this ideal version of yourself is an expression of the ego at work.

Our innate ego lives inside us all and we must learn to override the ego thoughts with desires of our heart and our soul.

Your heart has the desire to let go.

It is why you are here.

Live into that desire,

Dear one,

As you continue to breathe,

To feel into your breath,

To notice its natural rhythm.

Repeat some of these mantras or affirmations in your head or out loud if it calls to you in this moment.

I am perfect just as I am and I release my ego's desire to be anymore.

I am perfect just as I am and I release my ego's desire to be anymore.

I am full of light and of love.

I am full of light and love.

Rather than comparing myself to my peers,

My neighbors,

My loved ones,

My friends,

I love them just as they are.

Rather than comparing myself to my peers,

My neighbors,

My loved ones,

My friends,

I love them just as they are.

I live in peace and harmony.

I live in peace and in harmony.

I listen to my heart's desire.

I listen to my heart's desire.

I release the ego in perfectionism.

I release the ego in perfectionism.

Let that begin to bring some awareness back into your body,

Allowing a light and easeful swaying motion.

Maybe a wiggle of the fingers,

Of the toes.

Allowing yourself to come back into this present moment alive and refreshed and accepting of all that is,

Of all that could be,

Of all that will be.

Accepting,

Loving,

Grateful.

Carry on your day with this gratitude,

With this awareness.

I love you.
