Hello friend.
Thanks for joining me today.
Recently,
My wife and I went to Kansas City to visit our son,
Who's going to school.
And in.
The airline who shall not be named,
So that I don't go into rage mode.
Delayed our flight.
And then they delayed the flight again.
And then the flight got delayed again.
We finally did make it to Kansas City.
And just to top it off.
.
.
We got there so late at night that the rental car place was closed,
So we had to take a very expensive Uber in the middle of the night to get to his house.
And it was just one of those things where.
.
.
You had to laugh so that you didn't cry because everything kept going wrong.
And I know life has a way of doing that sometimes.
And it's usually not with something as trivial as a flight being delayed.
Sometimes it's hard to laugh and it's really easy to cry because things can just feel really heavy and overwhelming.
So,
Let's take a little bit of time together today.
And.
.
.
I want you to know our goal isn't to change what's going on around you.
Most of the time,
We can't.
Most of the time,
The stuff that's feeling really heavy is out of our control.
Ideally it would be nice to make it go away.
But we can't control or change that.
So I think a lot of times the goal is acceptance.
And acceptance doesn't mean we like it.
It just means this is what it is.
So if the goal isn't to make this go away.
Let's do something else.
Let's see if we can get things to soften by just 10%.
Take a minute to think about what thing is weighing on you the most right now.
What is the thing that's feeling the heaviest?
I'm gonna play you a song I wrote called,
Another Door Opens.
While you're listening to it,
See if you can get your body to relax a little bit.
See if you can get the heaviness of that thing you're holding to soften,
To ease just a little bit.
Just 10%.
Just enough to create a little bit more breathing room.
If you notice your mind wandering during the song,
That's okay.
That's what our brains do.
When you notice it wandering,
Just bring it back to.
.
.
Thinking about the thing that is really weighing on you right now and really shift your focus to letting a little bit of that go.
Letting a little bit of that soften.
Here's my song,
Another Door Opens.
Were you able to put down just a little bit of that weight?
I hope so.
A few other things that help me when life is feeling heavy.
I like to just get outside,
Breathe some fresh air,
Feel the sunshine on my face,
Touch grass.
Kind of just try to ground myself again.
Try some of that yourself.
And like the name of the song we just listened to,
I hope that soon another door opens for you.
I hope some insights.
I hope some peace and calm.
I hope some answers come.
Keep coming back here.
We'll get through these tough times together.
If the work we're doing together is helpful for you,
Check out a track I created called Nervous System Reset.
It's an hour-long guided journey where We'll work together to help regulate your nervous system.
When it's feeling.
.
.
Like it's going crazy.
Until we reconnect again.
Be good to yourself.
