My name is Cori.
For this meditation,
Make sure that you're already in bed and you're laid down comfortable.
This isn't a sleep meditation that's going to make you fall asleep.
It's a meditation to prepare your mind before bed so that you can relax your body.
It's a checklist of sorts.
The first thing though is to make sure that you close your eyes for a few minutes.
So close down your eyes.
Start to slow down your breathing.
Come into your body.
First of all,
Connect to the sensations of your back body,
The back of your head.
Feel what it feels like on your pillow,
The back of your shoulders,
And down your spine.
Feel the connection to the mattress underneath your body.
Feel the bottom of your back and your hips connected.
Feel down your thighs,
Down your calf muscles.
Feel that connection to your bed underneath your body.
Feel the backs of your arms and the palms of your hands.
Allow yourself to just know that you're in bed right now and you're fully supported.
Today could have been the best day ever,
Or it could have been an absolute nightmare.
Regardless of all of the facts about your day,
Right now in this moment,
Just be in your bed.
If there's unfinished business that you need to attend to with co-workers,
Or a friend,
Or your partner,
So be it.
Right now is not the time.
Right now,
It's just you,
Laid in bed,
Letting go of your day.
Keep your breath at a nice,
Slow,
Relaxed pace.
Bring in some relaxation into your body,
Slowing down your mind,
Slowing down your heartbeat.
If you didn't get through all of the things on your list to do today,
It's okay.
You did the best that you could.
If there was things left over,
Then so be it.
It's okay.
Right now,
There's nothing you can do about it.
All of that stuff has to wait,
So you might as well allow yourself to relax so that you can get a good night's sleep and start in on everything again tomorrow.
For now,
We sleep.
For now,
We let all of that go.
Tomorrow's a new day,
And you'll do the best that you can tomorrow.
So for now,
I hope you have a wonderful sleep,
My friend.
Namaste.
