Good morning.
Thank you so much for being here.
Good afternoon,
Wherever you're at in the world.
My name is Cori.
Let's meditate together,
Shall we?
So if you could settle into your meditation position,
You know,
The one that feels really familiar to you.
That feels comfortable.
If you're not used to meditation,
Then just kind of sit comfortable.
You can rest your back on a chair.
You don't have to be the typical crisscross applesauce position in meditation.
Do what feels right for you so that you can allow the mind to start to relax.
When your physical body is uncomfortable,
It's very difficult for the body to not take over where your head is at.
So if you need to pee,
If your bum hurts,
If your back hurts,
If your ankles hurt,
How you're sat,
Those will be louder voices than anything else in your meditation,
Right?
So be comfortable,
Allow yourself that grace.
Let's start by just taking a big,
Deep cleansing breath.
Nice big deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Let's do that again.
This time,
Breathe all the way down,
Deep,
Deep down,
Filled to capacity.
Biggest breath,
Big,
Big,
Big breath,
And then hold it for a few seconds.
And then let it out with a sigh.
Let your shoulders drop,
Let your body soften.
One more time.
Just one more time to really like reset the body for your meditation.
Breathe in.
Deep,
Deep,
Deep breath all the way in.
Home.
Feel the fullness And then.
.
.
Let it all out through your mouth.
Now just close the mouth off,
Breathe in and out through your nose,
And start to find a pace with your breath that's nice again.
Nice and comfortable.
Maybe your breath is quite shallow.
Maybe it's quite soft.
I know when I get into a deep meditation,
It feels as if I'm not even really breathing.
So the idea of a big,
Long,
Deep breath can sometimes be uncomfortable for some people.
So breathe how you want to breathe,
But just try and make it a little bit calmer.
A little bit slower than normal.
Find that nice,
Sweet.
Spot.
And then as your body starts to still,
Everything starts to get more quiet.
You'll feel the shift.
It's a very sweet kind of flow through your body.
Where you start to just get that Hmm.
.
.
I kind of feel it.
When you're there.
Stay still.
And keep your breath the same.
Just this for a minute or two a day is so good on your nervous system.
Giving yourself something really sweet just by doing that part of your meditation.
We're going to go a little bit deeper.
Imagine in your mind.
You're looking out of your inner side.
So your eyes are closed,
Your physical eyes are closed,
But you're staring out through those eyes.
Into this big dark space.
The big dog.
Vast area.
In front of your closed eyes.
If you look up,
And look down and look left and look right.
You can even turn your head around and imagine that you're 360-degreeing your vision.
It's all the same.
Just this big dark space.
And this big dark space can feel so many different ways depending on your own thoughts.
Let me say that again.
Depending on the way you think.
Will create.
So many different things in this dark space So that says.
Your thoughts.
Or the boss in this particular meditation exercise.
Your thoughts call the shots.
Looking in this big,
Vast space.
That your imagination follow me.
Visualize along with me.
Could be in a box.
Just a small room.
No bigger than arm's length around you.
Could feel very very small and constricting.
In this small box.
There's walls all around you in the darkness.
If you allow yourself to feel as if that's where you're at.
Literally let your imagination play.
Closing your eyes.
Not cheating by looking at where you're at in reality but closing your eyes so that you're just relying on the mind's eye That box that you're in could be so limiting.
Right?
So small of a space,
Nothing very much could get accomplished in there.
Not many experiences or other people,
Nothing really,
Just this tiny little box that is around you.
Now play with me again.
In that space there in front of you.
You.
Can.
Watch.
Yourself.
Outside of yourself.
Watch yourself.
In your favorite place in nature.
Maybe it's the forest.
Maybe it's the ocean.
Maybe it's a special tree that you go and sit by.
Maybe it's just your back garden.
See yourself there in your mind.
For me,
I see the trees.
I see the sunlight shining on the leaves.
I can see the sky.
I can smell.
The dirt,
The earth.
That wet,
Kind of damp,
Fresh,
Earthy smell.
Maybe if you're on the beach,
You can smell the ocean.
And everywhere I look,
Left,
Right,
Up,
Down,
Behind me,
Underneath.
I see my favorite nature spot.
And it's big and it's fast and I don't feel small.
And closed in,
It feels open.
And I feel.
Safe and calm.
And.
.
.
Connected.
Allow yourself to do that.
Allow yourself to feel.
Experience.
Through the power of your thoughts and your inner sight.
Really,
Really be at home in your nature spot.
Feel the earth underneath your feet.
Maybe feel the grass or the sand.
You can sit down and feel it under your bum.
Maybe you can feel your favourite bench that you sit on.
Bring it all back in two.
Real time.
Maybe you can hear the sounds.
Even in your nature spot.
Dogs barking,
Kids playing,
Maybe birds.
The humming of traffic far away.
But you're not in your box anymore.
Definitely not in your box anymore.
You're in this big.
.
.
Beautiful.
Perfect space.
Now I'd like you to do another tiny little exercise for me.
Imagine that you're closing down your eyes,
Your inner sight.
When you open them everything is just black again.
The space is completely empty like you've cleaned the board of your nature spot and you're back in that darkness once again.
This time.
I'd like you to imagine that you're staring at yourself in the mirror.
Your bathroom mirror.
Maybe you've just brushed your teeth.
Maybe you're putting on your moisturizer or trimming your beard,
Whatever it is that you're doing.
But you're staring into your own eyes in the mirror.
Now,
Imagine that you're looking at yourself.
Tired.
Rundown feeling,
Lost in your life,
Feeling stuck.
Feeling heavy.
Notice your face.
Notice your body,
How you hold yourself.
Your shoulders.
Everything just looks worn out.
Difficult.
Your eyes maybe.
Look different.
Remember,
You're looking at yourself because you're thinking about being all of those things.
Tired and Maybe stressed,
Stuck,
Run down.
All of those kinds of thoughts as you look at yourself in the mirror.
And the image that you see of yourself kind of reflects that.
Can find the dark circles,
You can find Maybe there are too many little lines that you think you're not supposed to have.
You can find it all.
Maybe you look a little bit grey.
Lifeless.
The way that you're thinking these thoughts that you're having seem to amplify how you love.
You don't feel like that and then look at yourself and go,
Wow,
You look great today.
You feel like that and look at yourself in a negative way most of the time.
Remember your thoughts are boss.
And they're ruling how you see you right now.
But then if we.
.
.
Imagine that we're just going to blink.
And when we open our eyes and we look at ourselves,
It's one of the best days.
You're happy,
You're full of energy,
You're joyful.
And as you look at yourself,
You look shiny and your hair looks glossier and your eyes look brighter and your face looks happier.
It might still have those little lines.
It might still have those imperfections,
But you feel really good.
And you're kind of in that space where you're like,
Wow,
I'm so grateful.
I'm so lucky.
I'm so happy.
That space.
That space,
Those types of thoughts that put a prep in your step.
Make you feel attractive.
And full of lie.
And the reflection that you see shows that.
You see yourself like that.
As you look at yourself and you're all happy and shiny.
You look like you've been taking care of yourself.
Recognize that the number one factor behind all of these experiences The box.
A wide open space.
The run-down you.
The vibrant you.
Recognize that The ruling factor behind all of those things is what you're thinking.
Your thoughts.
Create.
Your reality.
So if you're feeling stuck.
If you're feeling good.
Bound in any way.
Know that all you have to do is unbound yourself.
Unstuck yourself.
In your thoughts.
And your reality will be so.
Sounds pretty simple,
Right?
But it is the truth.
Get your mind in the right space.
So that the reality around you will be so.
I'm going to count to three.
You can open your eyes and come back into your reality.
Maybe just a little bit more aware of the impact of how you see yourself and the world and situations.
Give you some thought.
To ponder on today.
One.
2.
Three.
Opening your eyes.
Coming back to me.
Coming back into your life recognizing the power of your mind.
Namaste,
My friends.
