Rumi,
The great Sufi mystic,
Invites us through his poetry to enter into the deepest part of ourselves.
There's a force within that gives you life.
Seek that.
In your body,
There lies a priceless jewel.
Seek that.
If you are in search of the greatest treasure,
Don't look outside.
Look inside and seek that.
And then Rumi,
The well-seasoned traveller,
Asks us,
Can you,
My friend,
When will you take that long journey into yourself?
Today in our meditation,
We're going to take that journey.
Deep into your core,
Where your treasures lie.
So let us begin by closing our eyes and putting both of our hands on our heart.
And saying thank you.
Breathing in and out through our heart.
The energy of thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Allowing the grace inherent in this breath to clear the path from our clouded mind to our cloudless heart.
Thank you.
Relaxing deeper and deeper.
Thank you.
Feel or see or imagine yourself escorted into the deepest,
Purest,
Clearest part of you.
Thank you.
So from this part of us,
Together we call on divine grace.
Dear God,
Awaken me to the you in me.
Awaken me to the you in me.
Awaken me to the you in me.
Take my child and take on my glory.
And I shall abide in you and you in me.
I am ready to venture into the new.
I am ready to experience the mysterious,
The beautiful and the holiness of who I am.
I no longer want to remain a mystery to myself.
Living without the spark of life ignited the full flame of glory.
I am ready to fully embrace who I am.
So I pray for the courage I need to explore the unknown vastness of my own soul.
So with trust,
You take a deep breath and plunge heart first into the mysterious,
Velvety darkness of your own soul.
Is there a beginning or an end to this darkness you wonder?
The vast pool of nothingness swirls around you and seems to swallow you whole.
The canopy of the ego is tangling you in fear.
You open your eyes but cannot see.
Am I alone?
Is there anyone here?
Or cry out for light?
A cradle of stars appears through the blanket of darkness.
The sweet embrace of the Divine Mother's love.
She calms your fears and rocks the expanse of emptiness within.
The gifts of the darkness begin to emerge as the light of your goodness no longer blinding you.
Revealing to you the sacredness of your journey.
You have nothing to hide.
Not your bruises or your beauty.
You're free to see that there is and always has been beauty behind you.
Beauty within you.
And beauty all around you.
And with these compassionate eyes you can see the strings of your past that are ready to be released and healed.
Cutting any knots of regret or unforgiveness.
Any tangled strings of shame or pain or sorrow.
Setting away any limitations or anything that is holding you to the past and not allowing you to move deeper and more joyously into you.
With each cut,
Feel yourself becoming lighter and more transparent.
For you are free.
Free from the past.
You enjoy a free fall of complete abandonment into the vast expanse of joy that is within you.
A kaleidoscope of delight swirls about you as you desire nothing more than to be lost in this moment.
For no matter which way you turn,
There's nothing but beauty before your eyes.
You take your breath away.
Your mind is filled with awe.
As you remove your shoes.
For you have entered the holy of holies.
The promised land of you.
