Welcoming it to slow down and lengthen.
Following the inhalations and exhalations.
Use your exhalation if you notice any particular sensations of tension.
Take the breath to it and allow it to soften and release as you breathe out.
Continue to breathe slowly,
Deeply,
Just following the flow of the breath,
In and out.
Letting your body and mind become more relaxed.
Imagine you are in a large orchard of trees,
Broad and leafy and bursting with blossom.
You notice the bark on the trunks,
The different patterns and textures.
You notice the different shapes and colours of the leaves,
The delicate petals of the blush-pink blossoms.
The sunlight creates patterns and shadows on the grassy floor,
And as you look up,
Moving silhouettes of the branches dance against its radiant light.
Over on your right,
Bluebells create a calming blanket of lavender and lilac colours.
On your left,
The flow of a small stream drifts along with ease.
You come to a clearing in the orchard,
Forming a natural glade of meadow grasses and scattered wildflowers.
You walk through the soft grass and find a place to sit.
Sitting in the meadow grass,
You close your eyes and welcome the feeling of warmth of the sun on your skin.
You focus on the sensation as the warmth spreads around your body and feel a radiating soft glow within.
You sit with this feeling of warmth,
Stillness and just breathe.
The sky above is a vast expanse of tranquil blue.
Highlighted against it is the occasional hazy cloud,
Effortlessly floating by.
Noticing the sights,
Sounds and feelings of the natural world around you,
You feel in harmony with them.
Sitting with your breath,
You allow yourself to bask here in this peaceful,
Soothing place.
As you leave the orchard behind and bring your awareness back to your present surroundings,
You take the sense of peace and stillness with you into your day.
