Hello!
Let's do a meditation together.
There are a few things we need to do before we really get into the meditation.
First I want you to breathe in with your breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Now let's get super comfy.
So you're gonna wriggle your body down into the bed and you're gonna pull your doona right up to your chin and you're going to squish your head into the pillow.
Now that we're ready we're going to wriggle our toes,
Wriggle our fingers and we're going to melt just like butter into the bed so that our body is intense.
The bed is taking all of our weight.
So you've got to use your imagination today.
I bet you're really great at using your imagination.
I bet you play games all the time and you think of really cool things to make up.
So today you're gonna need your imagination.
Think about your day.
Did you go to school?
Did you go to kindergarten?
Did you have fun today?
Or were you sad today?
Were there things that worried you?
Things that maybe scared you a little bit?
We're just gonna talk about those things just for a minute and then I'm going to get you to use your imagination.
So in your mind think about those times when you might have been a little bit scared or a little bit fearful or maybe you were worrying a lot.
We're gonna bring those to the front of our mind and what we're gonna do is we're going to pretend we're blowing them away.
We're blowing them into a balloon.
Are you ready?
Okay so we're thinking about the thought,
Taking a big deep breath and blowing into that balloon.
That balloon can be any color you want.
It can be as big as you want.
Maybe we need to take another big breath and out.
I can see your balloon is getting really big now.
Maybe it needs one more breath and blow.
Now your balloon is so big we're going to have to tie it up.
So in your mind quickly tie that balloon up and then oh what's this?
It's a piece of string.
Whatever color string that you want and we're going to tie it around the bottom of the balloon just like the balloons that you see at a birthday party.
So in the balloon is our worry and what we're going to do is we're going to imagine,
Remember we've got really great imaginations.
Imagine we're holding that balloon and when we're ready we're going to let go.
We're going to let go of that worry stored in that balloon.
The balloon is going to go out your window,
Past the trees,
Past all the other houses,
Past the telephone lines,
Into the sky,
Into the night sky.
You see your balloon gently blowing.
You've nearly lost sight of it.
Keep going until you can see just the string and now it's gone.
Your balloon has gone up into the sky filled with your worries.
Let's try it again hey.
Let's think of one more emotion that we felt during the day that didn't feel that great.
Now we're going to put it into our balloon with our breath.
Breathing into the balloon and each time we blow out the air the balloon gets bigger.
In out.
Wow your balloon is getting really big.
Let's give it one more blow.
Okay it's ready.
Let's tie it up.
Oh here's some more string.
Let's put some string around it and let's watch it go out the window,
Past the trees,
Past the houses.
Oh I nearly bumped into a telephone line,
Into the sky and you just see the string.
You can just see it and then it's gone into the night sky up with the stars.
That feels good doesn't it?
To send all your worries using your breath,
Using your imagination.
Now you're ready for sleep.
Now you're relaxed.
Now you feel good.
Good night.
