This is a special talk on gratitude and we'll do a meditation and some prayers on gratitude as well.

Gratitude is an amazing force for good.

It's so powerful.

And we can practice gratitude every day.

Of course,

At Thanksgiving here in the United States.

And at times where there's people who actually have a day of gratitude,

Everyone focuses on it.

But it is something that really isn't for just one day.

The attitude of gratitude should be practiced every day,

Every morning,

Every night.

There's always this gift in taking time,

Even at the beginning of a meditation,

To really feel gratitude.

It makes you change from focusing on negative things to focusing on positive things.

All the blessings that you've got.

Let's do a couple of affirmations on gratitude,

But make sure you're comfortable.

And just take a couple of clearing breaths in,

Slow breaths in.

And let everything go.

Breathe in and clear away any stress or any other thoughts.

Just come into the center of your being so that you can be centered on gratitude.

I am blessed by God in countless ways.

I recognize and appreciate the blessings I receive.

I am grateful for the blessings of each breath.

I am grateful for the beauty of nature.

I am grateful for the animals and the beautiful winged ones who fly,

The oceans,

The rivers,

The beings that habitate the ocean,

And for all the beauty that nature brings.

Each day I see how lucky and how blessed I truly am.

And I appreciate all that I've been given.

I am thankful for all the friends and family members.

Take a moment and think of your friends that you are grateful for.

And for your family members who support you.

Take a moment to appreciate their being in your life.

Be grateful for all the protection you receive from your guardian angels,

From those you may not even be aware of who are watching over you.

Know that miracles abound in your life even when you're not aware of them.

Have an attitude of gratitude in your life and remember to be grateful every day,

In every way for your life and all that you were given.

Be grateful for having abundance,

Joy,

Creativity,

And inspiration in your life.

Be grateful for the divine guidance God provides in all of your daily lessons of life,

Especially the hard ones.

And be grateful for your body and your mind and your spirit and how they serve you in your life.

Remember,

Life is good all the time.

So this attitude of gratitude,

Of course,

Is referred to in Reiki lessons,

Reiki masters.

They always have the attitude of gratitude and it's easy to remember because it rhymes.

And it actually is a great gift to have that attitude of gratitude.

There's a grace that comes with gratitude.

So take time every day to be thankful for the blessings you've been given and realize how much you are given.

And when you stop to really count your blessings in that way and have that attitude of gratitude,

You are changing your state of mind and moving from that negative energy to the positive energy.

Now I'm going to read a little bit here,

Some prayers,

And then we'll go into a meditation as well.

And we're going to just think about gratitude here and the grace of gratitude in your life,

Which is so very,

Very powerful.

There is a blessing that comes with the breath of gratitude,

A certain power and a sacred grace in just stopping and recognizing the good that is present and all the bounties in your life.

See how much you've been given.

See the grace of living in your space.

Let that energy lift you in a holy embrace.

Appreciate all of those who care about you.

And at this time,

Let's really take a moment to go into the energy you feel when you are feeling gratitude.

Ah,

Feel the energy in your heart as you send out a thank you to those who love you.

Feel that energy is the love that is sent out to them right now.

And feel the ripples of that energy of gratitude affecting your entire body,

Your mind,

Your spirit.

Take a moment right now to take a prayer of gratitude into your heart.

The fire that lights the stars that reach you across the universe.

Ask you to see and believe that you can wish on them.

And yes,

Your dreams can be.

Against all odds,

You are here.

And with the miracle of life,

You can be in touch with your soul and find that grace is there,

Present in you,

Always near.

Your light reaches across the entire earth to the stars.

Feel that light radiating out from your heart to the sky.

Let it circle the entire planet with your gratitude and love.

Feel that love as it is carried on wings,

Precious wings around the earth,

Lighting up that whole energy field of the planet with love.

There are so many blessings you are given.

Allow those blessings to now come back to you even more a hundredfold and land in a perch around your heart.

Let's go into a deep place of gratitude in our meditation now.

Let all of your worries go.

Relax any tightness in your face,

Your shoulders,

Your neck,

Your hips,

Your back,

Your legs.

Allow your body to become a vessel that holds the spirit of your soul with grace.

Let's breathe deep the breath of light.

Let's allow that light to come into the crown chakra,

Down into your head and your neck and your shoulders.

Let it land in your heart there and let it amplify and magnify the blessings that you find there.

Allow that spirit present in that love to grow until it fills your entire vehicle.

Your entire being is shining forth its light.

It's a radiant light.

It's a healing energy that fills every single cell of your body.

Let it bring healing and wholeness to all of you.

Feel that power,

That blessing of love now magnifying the light.

Merge with the presence of grace and smile.

Feel yourself renewed,

Refreshed,

And regenerated by that wonderful spirit of light and love.

Say thank you for the restoration of your entire being with this healing light and this amazing grace.

And be grateful in your heart,

Mind,

And soul for this healing grace.

Breathe in that gratitude.

Feel how it changes your energy vibration right now.

Feel the blessings of gratitude.

Feel that positive energy radiate forth through your entire being in a smile with love.

And say thank you,

God,

For the blessings,

All of these beautiful blessings that I have been given.

And remember,

There are ways you can have that attitude of gratitude.

There are a few ways you can remember to express your gratitude.

Every day when you wake up,

Express to yourself or write down what you are grateful for.

Tell people you are close to the things that you are most grateful for.

Acknowledge with gratitude what they give to you.

Perhaps start a gratitude journal,

Expressing gratitude every night or morning by noting the things you are grateful for.

You might start that gratitude process by asking yourself,

What could I be grateful for?

Every day may not be perfect,

But there's still something you can be grateful for.

There have been so many studies,

Some medical studies that actually found that gratitude can affect your heart health.

We found that participants who keep a journal most of the days of the week writing about two or three things they are grateful for,

Everything from appraising their children to travel to good food,

They reduced levels of inflammation and improved heart rhythm compared to those who didn't write in a journal.

And the journal keepers also showed a decreased risk of heart disease after only two months.

So think about writing down and keeping a journal of all the things you are grateful for every day.

Gratitude shifts your mindset.

It changes your perceptions.

It takes you out of thinking about problems and helps you find solutions.

Gratitude is also contagious.

When we feel grateful,

Other people feel that great gratitude as well.

Gratitude facilitates contentment.

And it makes you aware of all the blessings you do have.

Gratitude also enhances sleep.

Gratitude strengthens relationships.

Gratitude recognizes the blessings that you have in your life and gives you a full heart.

So remember,

Remember to be aware of your blessings and have the attitude of gratitude.

To express that gratitude in your life.

To write down what you're grateful for.

And I'm grateful to be able to be here and share these words with you.
