I'm very big to love.
Hi,
My name is Reverend Cindy Palos and I'm very happy to be with you here today.
And I have to say I've been on this path a long,
Long,
Long time.
And I used to think when I was young that everything would be easier and better as I would get along.
And that life gets better and better and better.
And I've changed my perspective.
I've changed it to understanding that what we do is change the way we look at things.
And the value of learning and understanding and being able to see and live with a deeper inner perspective becomes more and more important.
And there are hard lessons in life.
And that doesn't mean that things aren't going right or they aren't good.
They might be considered not good if you are looking in that way that typically people look at life,
You know.
But on an inner level,
They could be the most valuable lesson learning times,
Which could be the most important times that you have in your life.
It seems that the hard lessons and the big changes come with very,
Very high cost sometimes.
And I think,
And I've thought about this a lot,
I think that because we cruise along and if things are pretty good and we're kind of buzzing along,
We don't really look at how we're going to change our perspective and our state of mind and improve and get to a higher place within.
Because there's not a need to because you're doing just fine,
You know.
So it's not until there's a shake-up and things are maybe not the way you considered them to be good that you're going to stop and go,
Hmm,
What's going on here?
Let's take a deeper look,
Right?
And that's interesting because if you look at any movie,
There's always that life drama.
There's always things are pretty good and then there's drama.
There's got to be some crisis and something that's really happening that's very hard.
And then you relive that and get out of that.
And then there's a hero's journey,
It's called,
And you overcome that at the end.
That's the way good movies are made or stories are told.
And it's interesting because I've had that happen in my life.
And last year was actually one of the hardest years of my life.
Two years ago,
I had a stroke and I can no longer read.
I can speak,
Thank God,
But I can't read.
And so everything I have to,
I get everything,
Messages and I found a way to have them spoken to me.
There's an app for that.
And then on top of that,
My lifetime partner for,
Well,
With me,
Most of my life passed away this last year,
About six months ago.
And he was very helpful for getting me by because I can no longer drive and do things.
So now I'm by myself and I have to deal with a lot of stuff because there was a closing.
We had radio stations,
Six radio stations,
And I'm still working on getting that taken care of and closing those out.
But all of those interesting,
Challenging things have given me a chance to take another look,
A deeper look at my life,
A deeper inside look at my life of what can I do and how can I learn and use the time that I have from what has gone on in my life and have a deeper and higher perspective of it.
And it's an interesting thing because a lot of times we don't do that unless we do have some life-changing things happening.
And there are a few things that can do that.
They don't have to always be a crisis or a death,
Sometimes a birth of a child or,
You know,
Falling in love or getting married.
Things like that can change your life.
You know,
It can be life-changing.
So we have events in our life that are life-changing and it's then that we start to see and act and really take a new,
Deeper,
Deeper inside look at what's going on.
And when we do that,
There's something that comes forth that's from,
That kind of is an opening.
We allow it at that point,
Some opening.
And I definitely believe in prayer and I also believe in meditation.
And I've had some people really,
In my point of view,
Not understand the value of both prayer and meditation.
Meditation is so valuable to be able to go within and meditate and find out what's going on and getting to that higher place within.
It's wonderful.
But prayer is so powerful too.
When we allow ourselves to pray to the source of all,
To the God within,
When we connect without demanding something to be the way we want it to be,
But through the higher energy of the way it's supposed to be and just pray for the guidance to get through what is supposed to be.
And most people don't do that.
When you pray,
Most often you're praying for things to be the way you want them to be,
Which is totally understandable.
But at the same time,
Wouldn't it be nice if we can trust enough in God that we can just pray for the strength that the best is going to happen,
That God's will be done.
And I think that was displayed by Christ as one of the last things he said,
You know,
Not my will,
But thy will be done.
Hard lessons,
Hard.
That's a really hard lesson there.
But at the same time,
Life changing for so many.
So I pray that both prayer and meditation and that looking within and that power from learning those lessons really are able to lift you to that place where you can find what you're really going to be doing with your life and how it can be valuable in the time that you're here.
You can do what you're supposed to do and be guided to make that happen.
I wrote a piece that I think is appropriate that I'm going to share with you here.
Sometimes you can't see the rising out on the ocean's horizon,
Where there's that merging of the sea and the sky.
Sometimes you look out at these very strange times and sigh.
And you wonder what is happening as the world keeps passing you by.
But life goes on regardless.
No matter what we think or say and do,
Life goes on regardless.
It's all a part of accepting what is that real truth.
And we can stop and wonder why.
We can analyze the reasons supplied,
But we can't really deny.
It's far beyond us to try to figure out why.
Because life goes on regardless.
Through these changing times,
Somewhere there is a lost horizon that we search for and still try to find.
The answers that are clear escape us until we stop and look inside.
As life goes on regardless.
And we go into a higher state of mind.
And the birds still fly across the sky.
The seasons change.
And we can't deny.
Life itself will rearrange and somehow survive.
And life goes on regardless.
Beyond the sea and sky's horizon,
There is a new day coming that holds such a brilliant light.
It's alive there in the soul of you and I.
