Aloha,
I'm Reverend Cindy Paulus and I wanted to talk about the power of believing.
Now there's been some hard times going on for a while now and I have seen some people starting to get very downhearted.
Downhearted,
Isn't that an interesting word?
And there's been people who have been getting depressed and those who have started to give up in some ways.
I understand when I see these things going on that these are challenging times,
But I also know that there are many things you can do to lift yourself up,
To get centered,
To believe again.
The power of believing that things are going to be all right,
That things are all right,
That things can change in just the way you change your perspective on things.
Now that is easily done if you can be open to taking the time,
To meditating,
To going within and to looking,
Looking for that place where everything is all right.
And that's a pretty basic thing if you can allow yourself to get out of whatever it is that has brought you down for a while and to go within and to allow that inner self,
That spirit,
That part of you that isn't going to be brought down,
That part of you that is always going to believe,
To be present in you.
It's a beautiful thing and it can happen in the same energy of seeing a beautiful sunrise or seeing something very lovely in your life happen.
And it can turn on that light bulb,
It can turn on that light switch that will give you another perspective,
An inner view,
And get you past giving up,
To get you past to that point where you can see that it is going to be all right.
And this I think is important.
I've been seeing a lot of people getting down and in despair and a lot of people kind of losing faith and that's such a sad thing when you see people losing faith.
I mean if you could just have the perspective of a child,
If you could just believe as a child does,
And if you could just allow yourself that place,
That space where there's that wonderful positive energy that is present when you see something beautiful like a sunrise or a sunset or something sweet or you know a dog playing,
A child playing,
You know something that is pure energy,
Right,
That is good energy.
And I think that's really needed right now,
More positive,
Pure,
Good energy.
And you can direct yourself to find that,
You can direct yourself to be fed that just like you are fed a meal every day,
You know,
You take care of eating,
Feeding yourself.
Well you need to feed your soul,
You need to feed your soul as well.
And you need to be able to go within and just open that doorway to the light and allow that wonderful pure energy to come in and purify and shine its light to remove the darkness that might be there inside,
You know.
Being lost in darkness isn't a nice thing,
It is not a fun thing.
And it's hard when you're in that darkness and that despair to remember what it was like when things were good,
When you believed,
When you felt good,
When you felt up,
When you felt positive.
And I think that you can choose,
I know you can choose,
But it's hard to convince someone who's down that they can choose,
They can choose that.
There are tricks that people can do if you think you might be getting down or if you know people that are depressed and down.
I mean taking a walk along the ocean,
Taking a walk in the hills,
Taking a walk in the forest,
Taking the time to listen to really positive music,
Uplifting music,
Music that gives you hope,
That allows you to believe.
Giving yourself that space to do something that might be something you love.
Maybe for me,
I love horseback riding,
You know,
That might be something like that.
Or doing something you love can open that door as well.
And when you do that,
When you do that,
Just allow yourself the luxury of that beauty of life to come in,
That positive energy of life to come in.
And allow yourself,
Allow yourself to feel good,
To feel good.
And just allow yourself to breathe and to lift your mind and your body and your heart and your soul to that higher place.
It's so important to share this with someone who might not be listening now,
Because sometimes when you're down,
You don't look out,
Search out ways to do this.
So if you're listening,
You probably,
Part of you understands this already.
Obviously,
You kind of got it.
But still,
You might need to remind yourself that,
Yeah,
I can feel good.
Yeah,
I have a right to feel good.
Yes,
I can embrace this beauty of life.
I can see that beauty of life.
I can find those moments that are magical in life.
And you can,
You really can.
It's up to you to choose to decide that you are going to do this,
That you are going to allow yourself this beautiful,
Wonderful energy.

And then I realized that really,
It's not just a children's song.
It's really for anyone,
Because we all deserve that gift of believing.
