The Icaro Song — Reconnection

The icaros are the sacred songs of the Shipibo-Conibo tradition of the Peruvian Amazon. According to this tradition, each plant holds its own vibrational frequency that the shaman learns to channel vocally.

These songs are not learned from human teachers — they are received from the plants themselves.

In this 2-minute practice, the core principle of the icaros is transposed without any substance: voice and breath as a bridge between the human being and the living world.

In the Amazon, Shamans do not sing for men, They sing to remind men that they are still alive. Close your eyes. Place one hand on the ground. Or on your knees if you are standing. Exhale while letting out a sound. Don't control it. The forest recognizes you by your vibration. Not by your thoughts. Not by your problems. By the sound you are when you stop trying. One more breath. The forest knows.
