This is a guidebook on how to macro dose your joy.
I'm done watching my intake,
Not of the things that are actually bad for me.
I'm talking about joy,
The real stuff,
The thing that makes you feel like yourself times 10.
Like you forgot that you were even capable of feeling this good.
Like,
Why the heck don't I do this more often?
We treat joy like it needs to be rationed.
Like too much of a good thing will ruin us somehow.
Like the childlike,
Gloriously unhinged,
Fully alive version of ourselves needs to be supervised.
They don't.
They need to be unleashed.
And here's the thing about joy,
Which shows up on a key,
Not some dirty key passed to you in the dark by a random stranger who's definitely a creep.
The key to your whole life,
To your whole self,
To your whole everything.
And instead of grabbing that key,
Running,
Most of us go,
Oh,
I'll just take you know,
Like the smallest little bit.
I'm,
I'm watching my intake.
The last time that I had some of this was eight months ago,
And I turned out fine.
Fine.
We're out here choosing fine.
I don't think so.
So here's a little five step guidebook that until now,
No one really gave us.
Number one,
You can write this down,
Come back to it anytime you want.
Notice what makes you feel feral with aliveness.
Not like,
Pleasantly content,
Not nicely relaxed.
I mean,
Feral,
Lit,
The kind of thing that makes you forget to check your phone.
It for you forget how to be self conscious,
You forget anything other than the complete present moment in your body having the time of your life.
Write that down.
That list is sacred.
Number two,
Stop treating it like a reward.
You don't earn joy at the end of a responsible and well managed life.
Joy goes in the middle at the beginning on a Tuesday before you've sorted everything out.
And guess what?
You'll never have everything sorted out.
So do it now.
Number three,
Be a fiend about it.
Be unashamed,
Unapologetic and not even a little bit sorry.
Chase the feeling go back for more.
Ask what it was specifically that did it for you and then reverse engineer your entire existence around the answer.
This is not irresponsible.
This is the most useful data you have.
Number four,
Let people watch.
Let them let them think it's extra or too much or a lot and let them go find less.
The ones that are most uncomfortable with your joy are the ones who are the most careful with their own.
That's not your problem to manage anymore.
And number five,
Stop micro dosing the thing or things that you were made for.
Alright,
So this is your permission slip.
Macro dose your joy.
Hero dose it.
See what happens.
I promise you it's gonna be a lot better than fine.
