Welcome to a guided meditation for calming a busy mind and reducing negative thoughts.

Find a comfortable place to lie or sit down and relax your limbs.

Press the small of your back into the floor or gently against your seat.

Relax and take a long slow deep breath in through your nose.

Hold it for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth.

Do this for another three breaths in and out.

In and out.

In and out.

Let any tension in your limbs and shoulders melt away as you gradually relax more and more deeply with each breath.

Feel the weight of your body pressing down getting heavier and heavier.

Take another long slow breath in through your nose.

Hold it and then exhale.

Empty your lungs.

Feel every drop of air leave your body.

On your next breath in,

Take your time.

Hold it for a moment and then let go.

You are now beginning to drift into a state of deep blissful relaxation.

Continue to breathe slowly as we focus on areas of your body from top to toe.

Bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Feel a gentle tingling sensation.

Let it travel down to the back of your neck.

The tingling feeling is a cleansing relaxing energy which will flow out across your hairline and cover your head.

Relax the muscles in your forehead and temples and allow your eye muscles to release the tension.

Your cheeks and your jaw muscles soften.

You can feel the tension lifting.

Let this peaceful feeling flow down into your shoulders,

Loosening every muscle and not its sinew.

Let your neck move slightly to the left and the right to ensure that it's fully released.

With each breath this blissful warm feeling becomes deeper and warmer.

It works its way deep into the muscles in your shoulders.

Soothing,

Relaxing.

The warmth splits into two rivers that flow into your shoulders and down both arms.

Your upper arms start to feel heavy and an intense feeling of relaxation overtakes you.

This flows from your forearms and your hands.

Gently move your fingertips to remove all traces of tension.

As your body becomes relaxed it becomes heavy,

However your thoughts become lighter like bubbles popping into and out of existence.

You are slipping further and further into a dreamlike state of stillness and relaxation.

Focus your awareness on your chest and your stomach.

Feel how this area of your body gently rises and falls as you breathe.

Listen to the steady beat of your heart.

A deeply peaceful sensation flows through your torso,

Filling it with warmth and relaxing every organ.

Feel this relaxing tingling sensation flow down your spine.

Feel every muscle in your back ripple as each one relaxes and unwinds.

Your entire upper body is becoming totally relaxed.

Now feel your pelvis pressing down.

Tilt it very gently so that warmth fills this area,

Relaxing your whole abdomen.

Once again the tingling warm energy travels into both your legs,

Curling around the back to the front of your thighs and over your knees.

A wave of positive energy and relaxation flows into your calves and your ankles.

Gently move your toes and allow any negative energy and tension to leave through the tips of your toes.

Your body is in a deeply peaceful state of your body.

A deep and deep and deep and deep and relaxed state of your body.

Now is the time to relax your mind and allow it to find a place of deep inner stillness.

Picture your mind leaving its normal resting place in your head and start to move magically through your forehead.

Your awareness hovers a short distance above you.

Your conscious mind can see your body lying peacefully below.

You can see the gentle rise and fall of your chest.

You feel a profound sense of love for this body,

Your body.

You feel safe,

You feel joy.

Your mind turns around and looks outward.

It drifts upwards through an imaginary window.

It rises on a breeze until it's over the roofs of the houses.

The bustle and noise of the traffic and people is muted.

Your consciousness focuses on the sounds of nature.

Birdsong,

Babbling water and the wind touching leaves.

Your mind soars past scenes of houses and buildings towards beautiful open fields and meadows.

You can see the detail clearly.

Each blade of grass,

Each flower petal,

Each pebble at the bottom of a babbling stream.

All are clearly visible.

Everything appears to be in slow motion.

The wings of a honeybee slow down to a standstill.

You are delighted by the beauty that you see beneath you.

Your mind descends to the bank of the stream and the water is crystal clear and you have an overwhelming urge to step into this shallow water.

You take an imagined step into the cool cleansing stream and it flows around you.

The sun sparkles like diamonds on the surface and you feel a deeper state of peaceful relaxation.

The waters have the power to take away any worries or stress that you have in your life that may be causing you to feel sad or burdened.

Think about anything that is troubling you right now.

You may feel that there are obstacles ahead.

You may have an upcoming event that brings you fear.

You may have a person that you're in conflict with.

You may have negative feelings that you are holding on to.

No matter what negative thoughts and feelings flow through your mind,

They quickly leave and are washed away in the water.

All negative energy is leaving you and being taken by this stream.

You see it sparkle under the water then burst like silver bubbles at the surface as each negative thought disappears.

You feel lighter and happier.

You can feel a broad smile developing on your face.

When you are ready step out of the water and return to the riverbank.

You are able to float once more and you lift off the ground and swoop over the countryside in any direction you choose.

While you are flying alone above the world you feel connected to the entire universe.

You feel weightless and timeless.

You are loved.

From deep within your heart and soul you hear these words.

I am free from all concerns about my past.

I am free from all concerns about my future.

I am free to experience life in any way I choose.

I am open to all of life's experiences.

Like the universe itself I am limitless.

As the moments of my life come and go I am at peace.

I do not exercise judgment on these moments.

I simply welcome them,

Observe them and accept them all.

If problems arise I do not resist them.

I observe them with a calm open mind for I know that they will resolve in time.

Inspiration comes to me in the quiet spaces between my thoughts.

I will allow my life to take magical and unexpected turns.

Obstacles that once seemed impossible now seem insignificant.

Every day my life is becoming happier and calmer.

I am grateful for all that comes my way.

Now with a perfect swooping dive you fly back through the window and see yourself lying peacefully and suddenly with a perfect wave of acceleration mind and body become one.

You feel relaxed,

Refreshed,

Lighter than you did before.

You are now ready to return to the full waking state and to take this sense of newfound freedom into your daily life.

You feel calm and at peace with the world.

Become aware of your physical body and the room in which you relax.

Regal your fingers and your toes.

Ten,

Nine,

Slowly waking,

Eight,

Seven,

Six,

Stretching limbs and becoming more and more alert.

Five,

Four,

Three,

You are nearly back now,

Two,

One.

Now in your own time open your eyes.
