These days life can be busy and at times, quite stressful. It’s so easy to get tied up in plans for the future, or yearning for the past, that we forget to live in the moment and to really enjoy each passing day. Our work schedules and 24-hour news coverage can give us a constant state of anxiety. You may not even realise it, but this modern-day trend can make us exhausted. A wonderful solution to stop living in this perpetual state is, conscious awareness or “living in the moment”

Welcome to your guided meditation for living in the moment.

Let's begin by finding your most comfortable position,

Whether that's seated or lying down.

Your safe space where you have privacy and can feel your most relaxed.

Now close your eyes,

Let your frown melt away,

Unclench your jaw,

Let any tension evaporate from each part of your body,

Your toes,

Calves,

Up through your spine and shoulders,

Your neck and down through your arms and out through your fingers,

Leaving a warmth on your skin.

As you feel your body become empty of tension and stiffness,

Let your mouth make the shape of a smile.

This should give you a tingly feeling in your cheeks and at the back of your neck.

This pleasurable feeling reminds you of how therapeutic smiling is.

Now take a few deep breaths to relax your mind and body.

Breathe down to your core,

Cool in-breath,

Warm out-breath,

In,

Hold for a moment and out,

In,

Hold for a moment and out.

Repeat this a few more times.

Imagine the cool healing effect that the oxygen is having on your cells,

Repairing,

Restoring,

Eliminating toxins and releasing tension,

In and out,

In and out,

In and out,

In and out,

In and out,

In and out.

Allow your breathing to become lighter,

Shallower.

Be mindful of your chest rising and falling at its own pace.

Your body is performing its own miraculous functions,

Sending your breath to the furthermost reaches of itself,

The tips of your toes,

The tips of your fingers and the tips of your ears.

Don't try to produce thoughts,

But if they arise just notice them.

Allow emerging thoughts to be wrapped in iridescent bubbles,

Let them drift away and pop out of existence.

Focus on the sounds of nature.

Take moments throughout your day to pause and to listen to nature whenever and wherever you find it.

Let the cadences and rhythms soothe your soul.

Relax and start coming back into the room.

Feel the weight of your body,

Feel alive and to the possibilities that will present themselves to you today.

Feel refreshed and optimistic and when you're ready,

Open your eyes.
