Returning to the nervous system.
Our nervous system is a communication pathway.
Within the body.
But not just within the body but within the outer spaces around it.
Everything is constantly communicating to our body,
To our nervous system.
And so in return the mind acknowledges and the body acknowledges too.
And sometimes the nervous system just needs that extra touch.
The extra tender care.
And a gentle return to home.
And so maybe you find this practice useful.
And please lay yourself on the floor or on the bed if possible.
Allowing the legs to stretch out.
The arms to fall into a v-shape along the body.
And in that space,
Do nothing.
Just arrive.
Arrive in whichever pulse the body meets you.
Whichever pulse your nervous system meets you.
You might recognise the wiring of the body perhaps.
The prickles and tingling of the network in the body connecting to the outside and rippling through a conversation in the body.
And be so quiet in this space there,
Acknowledging what's here now.
As to recognize where you meet in yourself.
To meet yourself fully in where you are.
As you acknowledge the system networking through you.
Become aware of the spaces of the body connected to the ground.
You might notice the density and quality of the shoulder blades on the ground.
The density and quality of the sacrum on the ground.
The density and quality of the back of the head on the ground.
And the density and quality of your heels.
On the ground.
Allow the space behind of your body to be recognisable,
To be seen,
To be felt.
To be acknowledged.
That there is a back of you.
Wanting to rest back.
Wanton support.
Invite your awareness to the quality and the space around you.
What sense is the space around you?
What is the conversation from the outside world into the eternal world?
There are these sounds around you was at silence.
Do the sounds trigger a presence or a.
.
.
A sense of maybe annoyance,
Maybe a sound that you perhaps don't find as relaxing perhaps,
Or it's not talking to the body in the way that perhaps you wish.
Inviting all sounds to be there.
To be in conversation with your nervous system.
And in that space of recognition of the sound.
And the conversation of the body.
Find the conversation of the body and the breath.
Where does your breath meet the skin?
Where does your body move from breath?
And allow again a recognition,
A welcoming,
A belonging to breath.
And bring a sense of quietude to breath.
And begin to notice the space in between the inhale and the exhale,
That subtle pause in between the in and the out.
They're out.
The out.
On the end.
On your next exhale,
Exhale completely through the lungs,
Empty to full capacity,
Nothing remains in the body.
When you inhale in,
Breathe fully,
Deepen into the breath,
Expand through the lungs,
The tummy,
The organs,
The space.
And pause.
Exhale out completely,
Fully emptying the lungs.
And your next inhale again,
Expand,
Open,
Serve the body.
Pause at the top and this time with your exhale create a little shone with the moth.
And again,
Inhaling in.
Exhaling out.
Inhale and inhale.
Exhaling out.
Inhale them.
Exhaling Continue like that in your own breath and taking the space around you,
Allow the breath to anchor into the sounds around you to be part of the rhythm of the world outside.
Take a moment and pause on your exhale,
Return to a normal breathing pattern.
