Imagine rocks in your shoes,
Rough,
Sharp rocks.
Every step is painful.
You can sit,
But not too long because you've got to keep going.
You still go to work,
School,
Worship,
Function where you need to,
But with every step there is the pain that reminds you of the jagged edged rocks in your shoes.
Imagine this conversation with yourself.
You,
How did these rocks get in my shoes?
Your inner voice.
You put them there.
You,
I did not.
Your inner voice.
Well then,
You brought the shoes with the rocks already in them and you put them on.
You,
I did not.
Your inner voice.
You did.
There's no other way the rocks could have gotten in your shoes and the shoes then put on your feet.
You didn't go to sleep and wake up with rocks in your shoes.
You,
My feet hurt so bad.
Your inner voice.
Just take the shoes off.
You put them on,
So sit down and take the darn things off.
Okay,
Okay,
Too harshly stated.
Try this.
Sit down,
Take the shoes off.
You,
Someone might see that I'm walking barefoot.
Your inner voice.
Newsflash,
Just about everyone can see you limping around because of the rocks in your shoes.
Don't care about walking barefoot.
Just know there's another pair right in your closet.
You,
I can't.
I have no other shoes to wear.
Your inner voice.
Then go without shoes until you find shoes without rocks.
You,
I can't go without shoes because.
.
.
End of conversation with self.
Number two,
Rock bottom.
What is rock bottom?
Rock bottom is the hardest,
Most uncomfortable and uncomfortable,
Jagged rock place in the life experience.
You don't arrive at rock bottom.
You hit rock bottom in your free fall,
Free will.
It isn't an isolated place.
Others have been there longer,
Some less time.
There is one commonality.
Everyone there used their own guidance system to get there.
They set the route to go through the hard way.
Destination,
Rock bottom.
Where is rock bottom?
Rock bottom is where there is no place further to fall.
What does rock bottom look like?
Everyone lands in a different spot.
So everyone's rock bottom looks different.
It's only when one gets sick and tired of being sick and tired of walking with rocks in their shoes,
And get sick and tired of being sick and tired of being on rock bottom,
That they will sit down and take the shoes off,
Even if they don't have another pair to put on.
And will they reach out and take the hand that has always been there and pull themselves up.
These images aren't all that imaginary.
You see people every day limping through life because they have rocks in their shoes.
Every day you hear the often familiar voices murmuring,
Complaining,
And crying out from rock bottom.
This is really about coming to the three-way intersection of knowledge of your power,
Courage to dare,
And faith to do.
There is no shame in being in either scenario that I talked about.
Everyone at some point in their lives has had sand,
Pebbles,
Or rough rocks in their shoes.
Really doesn't matter how it got there.
The urgency of the moment is to take the shoes off and either shake the debris or toss them aside and put on another pair.
Rock bottom,
Being at rock bottom is what it is.
Don't build your house there.
Don't try to adjust your life to endure it.
Decide when you want to leave.
When you've had enough,
Look for the help inside that has always been there and just get up and get the hell out.
You'll figure out what to do with yourself after you get up and get out.
Remember,
The prodigal son didn't have all the answers either when he came to himself and got up out of that place where he was eating with pigs and went back home.
Just know that rock bottom is not the place for you to be.
Walking with rocks in our shoes,
Hitting rock bottom,
In these circumstances you find the knowledge of your power in thinking possibilities beyond your present reality.
You find the courage to dare,
To make the necessary changes.
You find the faith to do.
Do it because the one power in the universe,
God,
Spirit,
Source,
Whatever you choose to call it,
Is for you and in you.
For your good,
For your better,
For your best.
So,
Do you want it on the rocks or straight up?
I'm Carol and I'm just thinking.
