Hello and welcome.
I'm so glad that you're here and that you chose this resource.
So I want you to thank yourself for choosing this path and find a place where you can get comfortable for a few moments,
Whether that's sitting or lying down.
Just allowing yourself to limit distractions,
Silence your phone,
Close the door.
Allowing your body to relax.
Knowing that during this time,
You're safe and supported.
You're here to give yourself the gift of time and space.
To nurture yourself with acceptance,
Compassion,
And understanding.
Taking any other movement to settle in,
Feeling your body supported by the surface beneath you.
And when you're ready,
Begin to soften or close your eyes.
And we'll begin by taking a deep,
Slow breath in.
Exhale,
Letting go of any tension.
Breathing in… And breathing out.
Let feelings and thoughts and sensations come and go like clouds in the sky.
Don't need to control them,
Judge them,
Or push them away.
Or simply notice and let them pass by like clouds.
And with each inhale,
Imagine inviting calm into your body.
With each exhale,
Releasing tension.
Slowly relaxing.
And as you continue to breathe,
I'd like you to begin to bring your awareness to your body.
Start at the top of your head.
Notice any sensations you might be experiencing.
Maybe you feel a sense of warm.
Or perhaps there's some tightness or discomfort.
You don't need to change anything.
Simply noticing.
Shifting your attention to your forehead,
Allow the muscles there to soften.
Relax your eyes,
The space between your eyebrows.
Your cheek.
Your jaw.
Let go of any tension.
Just letting your face soften.
Beginning to relax the muscles of your neck.
Your shoulders.
Notice any areas where you're holding tension.
And see if you can breathe into those spaces.
Allowing them to release and relax with each exhale.
And bring your awareness to your chest,
Your heart space.
And then I want you to imagine a warm light glowing there.
This light represents the love and compassion you have within you.
With each breath,
This light expands,
Radiating warmth and kindness throughout your body.
Feel this light spreading through your arms,
Your hands.
Down your spine.
Through your legs.
Allow it to fill every corner of your body with compassion.
And kindness.
And take a moment to reflect on the truth that your worth is not based on perfection or achievement.
You are worthy simply because you are.
And allow that truth to settle deeply into your being.
And then shift your attention to a part of you that might be struggling.
This part of you that feels anxious,
Fearful,
Or critical.
If there's a part of you that feels disconnected or in pain,
Know that it's okay to be present with that part.
And imagine that part is a small version of yourself.
Maybe a child or an image or just a sensation,
Whatever comes up,
Allow yourself to connect with it from a place of openness and compassion.
You may notice that this part feels afraid or uncertain.
And that's okay.
Take a moment to acknowledge its presence without needing to fix or change anything.
Maybe you can simply say to this part,
I see you,
I hear you.
And I'm here for you.
And as you breathe in,
Imagine sending warmth and light to this part of you,
Offering it reassurance and tenderness.
We're simply making space to be with what's already here.
Without adding meaning or judgment,
Just our presence.
Maybe you start to say to yourself,
I am enough.
I am worthy of love and compassion.
I accept myself fully and completely as I am right now.
It's okay to struggle.
And I am here for myself with love and kindness.
Allow these words to resonate deeply.
Know that you have the power to offer yourself a love and comfort you may seek from others.
That you too are capable of being a source of care and support for yourself.
You are the compassionate self that can witness whatever arises with kindness and understanding.
So take a moment to commit to memory what it means to be compassionate with yourself.
And as we begin to close this practice,
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Finding the rhythm of your breath.
Steady and calm.
And remember that self-compassion is a practice.
It's not about never having critical thoughts or difficult emotions,
But about returning to this place of kindness and support over and over again.
Every time you practice,
You are strengthening your ability to hold yourself with care,
Just as you are.
When you're ready,
Begin to bring your awareness back to the space around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently stretch your body,
And slowly blink your eyes open.
Thank you for sharing this time with yourself.
Take this compassion with you into the rest of your day.
