Welcome.
My name is Suha and I'll be guiding you through the practice of Yoga Nidra.
This practice is focusing on realigning the digestive system.
Which starts with the mouth and ends at the anus.
Just start to lie down comfortably in Shavasana.
You can use a bolster,
A scarf or a blanket to make yourself the most comfortable.
As you lie down,
Allow the body to soften.
Feel the surface beneath.
And allow yourself to feel the support.
The connection and soften a little bit more.
There is nowhere to go,
Nothing to achieve.
Just relax and let go.
Now start to observe the breath.
Guiding the breath deeper.
Gently and slowly.
And exhaling fully.
Breathing in.
And as you breathe out soften a little bit more.
The more you soften the body you will notice the breath is automatically becoming deeper and longer.
Allow the breath to flow anchoring yourself more and more into the present moment.
Now we can use our Sankalpa,
Our intention for the practice.
Which is simple.
I am relaxing.
And realigning.
The digestive system.
I am relaxing and realigning.
The digestive system.
Repeat it one more time.
I am relaxing.
And realigning.
The digestive system.
Now we will move the awareness through different parts of the digestive system.
Become aware of the mouth.
The lips.
The tongue.
The gums and the teeth.
The roof of the mouth.
Now notice the inner space of the mouth.
Become aware of the jaw.
Allow the jaw to soften more Softening the cheek muscles and the face.
Swallow or taste if you feel like.
Release the tongue from the roof of the mouth,
Allowing it to rest.
Now become aware of the saliva.
Notice the subtle presence of the salivary glands around the mouth and the jaw.
Saliva is a natural process of body's digestion.
Allow yourself to appreciate this first stage of the journey.
A space where we taste,
Chew and swallow.
Now gently move the awareness from the mouth towards the throat.
The oesophagus.
You don't have to visualize it perfectly Simply sense a pathway traveling downward.
From the mouth.
Through the throat,
The chest.
And to the stomach.
Feel the possibility of spaciousness.
Along this pathway.
No forcing,
No rushing.
Just a gentle awareness and spaciousness.
Now move the awareness to the stomach.
Around the center of the upper abdomen.
The stomach receives,
Holds,
Mixes.
Breaks or churns the food further participating in the transformation of what we take in.
Imagine the stomach surrounded by softness.
Allow the muscles of the abdomen to soften.
And allow the breath naturally move into the belly.
With every exhale,
Inviting a little more ease and relaxation.
We don't have to make anything happen,
The body.
It has its own rhythm.
Just soften and allow.
And silently repeat,
I allow my stomach to realign.
With natural frequency and rhythm.
Now we will move the awareness towards the liver.
Placed next to the stomach on the right side.
Imagine this large vital organ.
Functioning quietly within you.
The liver participates in countless processes that supports the body's inner balance.
Simply become aware.
Feel its presence.
Imagine the warmth.
And ease around and in the liver.
Allow yourself to silently acknowledge.
Thank you,
Liver,
For everything you do without my conscious effort.
Now move the awareness to the gallbladder.
Placed beneath the liver.
Simply sense its presence.
It's okay if you're not able to become fully aware of it.
Imagine this small space within the body.
Surrounded by calm.
And allow the entire upper abdomen to soften.
Now we will travel deeper into the abdomen.
Towards the small intestines.
Imagine.
A vast inner landscape.
With gentle rhythmic movements.
There is no need to trace every curve,
Simply sense the movement.
Continuous journey.
And silently repeat,
I trust the intelligence within my body.
Now move the awareness to large intestine.
Sense its pathway around the lower abdomen.
Beginning on the lower right.
Moving upward,
Across and downward.
Allow your awareness to slowly travel along this pathway.
Lower right side,
Up,
Across and down.
Notice the possibility of releasing tension.
Softening.
Allowing more space.
The digestive system does not need our constant supervision.
It has its own intelligence,
Its own rhythm and timing.
The more we relax and soften,
The more it's realigning to its natural rhythm.
And simply rest in that knowing that it's all happening.
Now move the awareness to the lower right side of the abdomen.
The area of the appendix.
Simply include this small part of your body within your awareness.
As though you're saying every part of me belongs.
Every part of me is worthy of awareness.
Every part of me can relax and realign.
Now allow the awareness to move towards the final part of the digestive journey.
The rectum.
Place where the body prepares for release.
Bring softness to the pelvic region.
Relax the lower abdomen.
The hips.
The pelvic floor.
We generally hold a lot of tension here.
Just relax and allow the body Release naturally.
Finally,
Bring the awareness to the anus.
Notice the muscle around this opening.
If you feel like,
Pull or tighten the muscle and release Feel the difference between holding and releasing.
Now imagine the entire digestive system From the mouth,
Through the esophagus,
Into the stomach.
Liver,
Gallbladder.
These small intestines,
The large intestine,
Towards the rectum and the anus.
One continuous inner path Imagine the whole process of digestion,
From the first taste.
The final release.
How we are receiving,
Processing.
Transforming,
Absorbing.
And releasing.
And this is the natural rhythm of digestion.
There is nothing to force,
To control.
What to hold on to forever?
Nothing to rush.
Allow the breath to move naturally.
And silently repeat I am relaxing and realigning my digestive system.
I am relaxing and realigning my digestive system.
Repeat it one more time.
I am relaxing and realigning my digestive system.
Now become aware of the whole body.
Notice how it is supported Breathing and alive.
Become aware of the breath.
Notice how the breath is flowing in and flowing out.
Notice the surface beneath you and the space around you.
And prepared to come out of the state of relaxation.
And prepare to move your body.
With a deep breath and a gentle stretch.
Allow the body to move.
Allow it to find its movement.
Moving the fingers,
The legs,
The toes Maybe another deep breath.
A gentle appreciation for yourself.
For this moment.
And for your extraordinary body Whenever you feel like,
You can rub your palms.
And share the warmth with your whole body.
And you can open your eyes with a gentle smile Also remember that renewal doesn't announce itself always.
Sometimes it is just that beautiful space and the permission we give our body and our whole being.
To relax and to realign.
Naturally.
To its natural rhythm.
Thank you very much for practicing with me.
