Good Therapy defines self-compassion as “...the ability to turn understanding, acceptance, and love inward.” Most of us find it easy to extend compassion to others. However, this same gesture can prove difficult to redirect towards ourselves. Science has demonstrated that our engagement in self-compassion has the propensity to alleviate anxiety and insecurity.
