Transcript

In this practice,

You'll cultivate a positive character strength through visualization.

Some examples of positive character strengths are bravery,

Wisdom,

Curiosity,

Forgiveness,

Compassion,

Balanced energy,

Patience,

Leadership,

Concentration,

And discipline.

By continuously doing this meditation,

You'll form new neural connections in the brain that will make it easier for you to access these traits in your daily life.

First pick a trait that you would like to work on.

Now pick somebody that exemplifies this trait.

This could be somebody from a work of fiction or a movie,

It could be a historical figure or a religious figure,

Or it could be just from your imagination.

Now visualize this person using this character strength in their daily life.

Notice how it helps them.

Pay attention to how this character strength affects their emotions,

Their thoughts,

And their behavior.

Notice how it helps them deal with difficult life situations.

Notice the positive impact it has on those around them.

Notice their body language when they're embodying this character strength.

Now imagine that this person was in front of you looking at you kindly.

Notice what it feels like to be in their presence.

As they're looking at you,

The feeling of this character strength becomes more palpable.

It begins rubbing off on you.

How do you feel in your body when you're near this person?

Now imagine this person dissolving into a ball of white light.

This white light moves forward and enters your heart.

And now your entire body is filled with this purifying white light.

Now this character strength is embodied in you.

Feel how your body changes when you have this character strength.

Notice how your thoughts and emotions change.

Spend some time enjoying being with this character strength.

Visualize yourself going about your day with this character strength and confronting things that are usually difficult.

Notice how this character strength helps you to solve problems in your life.

Now slowly begin to bring this visualization to a close.

But stay connected with the felt sense of this character strength in your body as you go about your day.

This was amazing! I've tried visualization on and off for a year now. This one really impacted the way I visualize, causing me to feel capable and empowered to actually embody the desired characteristics I was visualizing. Thank you!
