In this practice,

We will connect with the wisdom of the heart.

The heart has over 40,

000 neurons.

In fact,

Some scientists say the heart has its own little brain.

The awareness in the heart is different than the awareness in the brain.

Heart-centered awareness doesn't use thinking or logic,

But senses things in a more connected and emotionally intelligent way.

Many of our problems come from overthinking and getting caught up in our conceptual mind.

Often,

We cannot think our way out of a problem that our thinking mind created.

As Einstein said,

No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.

By learning to shift into the awareness of the heart,

We can change our perspective and see things in a new light.

To begin,

Place one hand in the center of your chest.

Notice which hand feels better on the chest.

To warm up the heart,

Think of something or someone that makes you feel love.

This could be a friend,

Family member,

Spouse,

Pet,

Or a positive memory.

Pay close attention to the sensations in your chest as you generate this feeling of love and openness.

You may feel warmth and positive energy,

A sense of flow,

Gratitude,

Or other positive emotions.

If your heart feels cold or constricted,

Be patient and be kind to those feelings as well.

Stay with this part of the practice until you feel the heart opening.

If you need to pause the recording for a few minutes,

Please do so.

Now,

Drop the visualization of a loved one,

But continue to stay connected with the feelings in the heart.

Breathe into the heart gently and allow positive energy to flow from the heart.

This energy can flow through your entire body and out into the room.

If you get distracted,

Just keep coming back to the feeling in the heart.

Listen to your heart and see what you notice.

Perhaps you can just enjoy the feeling of being connected to your heart,

Or perhaps there is something else that you hear.

As you bring this practice to a close,

Commit to staying connected with this inner source of wisdom.

Remember that this awareness is always present,

And you can connect with it to soothe yourself and also to help connect with others in your life.
