We invite you to come along on a journey into the depths of your own heart,
That sacred place at the very center of your being where your heart song is softly humming,
Waiting to be awakened,
Your inner temple.
So to prepare,
Find yourself sitting or lying down comfortably and deeply relax,
Feeling your body soften,
Surrendering to gravity,
Releasing your weight to the earth below,
Allowing yourself to be held by her.
Now feeling into the soles of your feet,
Let your awareness rest there for a moment,
Observing the sensations you discover and inviting a sense of ease and spaciousness.
Now allowing your awareness to drift slowly up your legs and continuing to scan through each part of your body,
Noticing any areas of tightness and letting those be invitations to release and to soften even more.
When you reach the crown of your head,
Letting your awareness expand to fill your entire being,
Every cell is turned on,
Awake,
Receptive,
Listening.
Now as you look down on your body from above,
You see a golden door at the center of your chest.
Approaching the door,
You pause and ask permission to enter.
Your answer comes in the form of a resounding yes,
Reverberating throughout your cells and a wave of warm welcoming energy washes over you.
You feel your hand being drawn towards the door as though by a magnetic pull.
With excitement and curiosity,
You press your palm to the door and it dissolves at your touch,
Opening a portal from which a warm white light pours forth.
Eagerly,
With a sense of full trust,
You step inside into the most beautiful temple you can possibly imagine.
As you look around and take in the splendor of the space,
You feel a sense of familiarity.
Across the room,
You see an incredibly exquisite altar and with utmost reverence,
You approach it and bow down in awe of the sacred presence you feel emanating from it.
Arising,
You take a closer look at the altar.
You notice it needs some tending,
So you pick up a feather and one by one,
Dust off the sacred items,
Taking a moment to feel each one in your hand,
Connecting with its essence,
Receiving an activation from the divine power it holds.
You may feel inspired to rearrange the items in a new way,
Perhaps adding certain things and removing others,
Knowing they served you at one time but are no longer needed.
When your altar tending is complete,
A candle appears as if inviting you to light it,
So you light the flame and immediately feel a wave of brilliance emanating from your heart's center.
Your inner eye opens and you see a warm light illuminating the temple within you,
Adding a sheen of radiance to the walls and everything inside.
And in your body now,
You may feel a glowing sensation filling the cavern of your chest's base.
Allow yourself to simply bask in the radiance for a few moments,
Taking in its beauty and its warmth with all your senses.
Then you notice a beautifully shining box in the center of your altar,
A music box.
As you touch it,
It begins to light up,
Glowing and vibrating as though almost bursting with creative energy that's waiting to be set free.
The instant you begin to turn the crank,
You're lit up from inside with the most magical sound you've ever heard or felt.
You feel the song flooding vibrantly from the center of your chest,
Washing over you with the sweetest,
Most peaceful,
Tickling sensation,
Filling you and the room you're in with the energy of effervescent joy,
That radiant delight that comes only with opening the cage around your heart and letting your song soar.
Curious,
You stop turning the crank for a moment,
And the sound dissolves into thin air as the light slightly dims.
And resting in the sweet silence,
You turn the box around and discover a switch that says,
Always On.
And you realize that you have the choice in this moment whether to flip it or not.
So ask yourself this,
Are you truly ready to devote your life to sharing your expression?
To offering your voice,
Your creative gifts?
Ready to experience the pure pleasure that comes with receiving and embodying divine creative energy?
Unconditional love?
Creating and sharing beauty?
Walking the path of devotion?
Only when you are ready will you make the choice to flip the switch on,
Causing the beautiful music to flow from its source once again.
The glow returns to your heart center and you feel yourself filling with inspiration.
With the vibration of pure delight,
Imagination,
Play,
Curiosity,
Discovery.
Now that your song has awakened,
It won't go back to sleep unless you ask it to.
So place your left palm now over the center of your heart,
And if it feels true,
Making a promise to yourself that you'll allow the river of music to keep flowing,
No longer damming it,
Letting fear or doubt stand in its way.
Feeling the warm,
Joyful sensation continue to expand even still as you return your awareness to your physical body.
Now you are invited to place the right palm over the left hand,
Sealing in this promise.
This prayer.
Giving thanks.
Giving thanks for your song.
For the sacred instrument of your body.
The divine temple within your heart.
And the beautiful light that shines from inside of you,
Illuminating it all.
