Hello and welcome lovely friend.

Today I want to talk about creative blocks or more so what it means to open up to your natural creative flow.

Because for a lot of people they just they don't give themselves permission to be creative at all.

But here's the truth.

We were all born to create.

You don't need to earn it.

You don't need to wait until you feel ready or inspired or certain on what it is that you want to make.

And you definitely don't need a reason.

Creativity isn't about being good at something.

It's not about perfection.

It's about aliveness,

Expression and play.

It's about being willing to be rubbish at it and doing it anyway.

So if you're feeling a creative block or you just don't know where to start,

Start badly.

Start messily.

Start unsure.

Just start.

For me personally when I'm having a creative block I generally grab out a few art supplies that I haven't used for a while or things that I've bought and just never touched.

I just play around with them and have fun.

So I want to,

I want you to just grab a pen and paper right this moment.

Doesn't matter it could be a scrap paper,

It could be a crayon that your child has left laying around.

And I want you to close your eyes and place your hand over your heart.

Just feel your breath rising and falling.

That's,

That's your life moving through you.

That's your creative pulse.

You don't need a plan.

You just need a beginning.

Allow this moment to be your beginning.

I want you to say to yourself,

I give myself permission to begin.

Imperfectly.

Freely.

Now.

And then open your eyes and grab that pen and just start to scribble.

Just make a mark.

Draw circles over and over and over again.

Draw lines.

Write down your favourite word.

Perhaps you might want to write that word a few times,

Like a mantra.

But whatever it is you do,

Be terrible at it.

Be imperfect.

Be gloriously messy.

Just begin.

Just have fun.

And then step back from that and admire your masterpiece.

Because you,

My lovely friend,

Are a masterpiece in the working.

Just allow yourself permission to show up.

To be real.

And to create in whatever way that lights you up.

Draw,

Write,

Paint,

Collage,

Cook,

Sing,

Dance,

Make music.

This world needs your creative soul to show up.

You need your creative spark to be felt.

It's okay to be unsure.

It's okay to not show anybody what you've made.

But don't deny yourself your own creative flow.

Ignite that creative spark within and create,

Make or do whatever it is that makes you happy.

Wow, been really antsy to get my creativity out but in a different light. So I’ve purchased watercolors. Not a painter but why not try. Did my very first painting and what fun! Not perfect by any means and need to play around but it was exciting and fun. So think I’ll do a journal and see what flows.
