Namaste,
Friends.
Annette here to guide you through starting your day cultivating happiness.
Let's begin in a comfortable seated or lying position.
Place your hands on knees,
Soles of palms facing upwards to receive.
Gently roll the shoulders back into their joints and let the shoulder blades melt down the back.
With mouth closed,
Let's take a deep inhale in.
Now open the mouth and exhale all the tension out of the body.
Again,
Close the mouth and breathe deeply in.
Now open the mouth and exhale.
Once more,
Close the mouth and inhale.
Now open the mouth and exhale.
Gently close the mouth and begin to breathe normally in and out of the nose.
If your mind starts to wander,
Draw your attention to the breath and no worries,
It's perfectly normal.
If you find yourself thinking thoughts,
Gently draw your awareness back to your breath.
We will begin with creating an intention,
Our sankalpa.
Breathing our heartfelt intention or our sankalpa through a clear space within enables us to resonate our humbly felt intentions through the universe.
And when we project from this quiet place without grabbing,
Reaching or straying towards,
The universe responds most effectively to allow our sankalpa to begin to manifest in our inner and outer world.
For this meditation,
Our sankalpa will be,
I expect and I am open to and embrace with a smile,
All the miracles that the day brings to me.
Thank you God for all the miracles,
Small and large that come my way today.
We will also practice Ishvara Pranadana.
It's Nayama number five from the Yoga Sutras.
Ishvara Pranadana means surrender.
If we can say without reservation,
I give you myself,
My body,
My mind and my heart to do with as you best see fit.
Then we will be free from the stress,
Anxiety,
Self doubt and negative karma that arises from our reliance upon our egos to determine which actions we take in our lives.
Happiness is our natural state.
And from this day forward,
Let us not waste away the moments of our lives consumed in anything but happiness.
Contemplate daily the supreme attributes of Ishvara Pranadana as you meditate and offer yourself completely as a vehicle for divine will.
Relax the shoulders.
Notice the breath and the miracle of the breath moving in and out of the body.
Peace comes when we relinquish the idea that we are the doer and allow the infinite to guide us on our way.
Let go and let God.
To complete the practice,
I will leave you with three sankalpas or into two.
I will leave you with three intentions.
Number one,
I expect and I am open to and embrace with a smile all the miracles that the day brings to me.
Thank you God for all the miracles,
Small and large that come my way today.
Number two,
I will live today as each moment is a miracle and appreciate the beauty all around me.
Number three,
Today may I be divine light and representation of your goodness.
I surrender myself to the divine,
My body,
My mind and my heart to do with as you best see fit.
Draw your attention to the heart.
Notice the energy there.
Begin to feel that energy radiating down into your abdomen and then up into your shoulders.
Feel the heart smile.
Feel all the organs in the body smile.
Feel that wonderful happiness,
The energy of it start to radiate all through the body and then you have so much happiness that it begins to radiate outside of the body.
See this glow of happiness all around you.
Bask in the glow of this beautiful energy.
If you do this practice for 10 days straight,
I guarantee you will see beautiful results.
May you recognize the miracles that will come to you today.
May you embrace them wholeheartedly.
You are awesome.
You are worthy.
Have an amazing miraculous day.
Until we meet again friends,
Namaste.
