Hi,
I'm Angie,
An intimacy and pleasure coach.
This meditation is called Coming Home to the Body.
And it's exactly what it sounds like.
Not a body scan,
Not an assessment,
Just a return.
A few minutes of coming back to yourself after being somewhere else.
Which,
If you're like most of the people I work with,
Is most of the time.
You don't need to do anything with what you find.
Just be.
Find a position that feels comfortable.
Sitting or lying down,
Whatever lets you settle without effort.
Let your gaze go soft down toward the floor.
Take one slow breath in… and let it go.
You don't need to do anything with this breath.
You don't need to be breathing correctly.
Just let your body breathe the way it has been doing all day without your help.
Notice the rhythm of it.
The rise,
The fall,
The small pause in between.
Bring your attention to the place where your body meets whatever is underneath you.
The floor,
A chair.
Of bad.
Feel that contact.
The pressure.
Of support.
Your body has been here this whole time.
Holding you.
Carrying you.
Doing what it knows how to do without your effort.
You've probably been somewhere else.
In your head.
In the day.
In whatever came before this moment.
That's fine.
You're here now.
Without trying to change anything,
Just notice what's the first thing you're aware of in your body right now.
Not a thought about your body.
A sensation.
Temperature.
Wait.
Tightness.
Ease.
Whatever is actually there.
Just notice.
Let your breath drop a little lower.
Into your belly if it will go there.
Feel your belly soften on the exhale.
Not a forced softening,
Just permission to let it go.
Notice your shoulders.
Are they held up?
Or resting.
You don't have to fix them,
Just notice.
Notice your jaw.
Is it clenched?
Or loose.
Something in between.
Notice your hands.
Are they open?
Curled?
Whatever you find,
It's information.
Not a problem.
Nothing that needs to be fixed.
Just data about where you are right now.
Place one hand on your chest.
Just rest it there.
Feel the warmth of your own hand.
Feel the pressure of it on your body.
Feel the rise and fall beneath it.
This is you.
Right here.
Not the version of you that has things to do.
People to take care of.
Things to figure out.
Just you.
Here,
Breathing.
Stay here for a moment.
You don't need to go anywhere.
Take one more slow breath.
And out.
Before you open your eyes.
Notice.
Is there anything different about how you feel right now compared to when you started?
Not better or worse.
Just different.
You can come back here anytime.
It takes less than a minute once you know the way.
When you're ready,
Slowly.
Open your eyes.
And return.
To your day.
