Hi there and welcome back to Insight Timer.
I'm Stephen and I'll be your guide for this meditation which is an invitation to spend five minutes to recenter,
To reset,
To relax,
And to ready yourself for whatever is next for you.
In these five minutes.
You can start by noticing your presence.
Noticing your body in the space where you are.
Noticing that you've shown up.
To meditate.
You are here.
We are here,
Practicing.
And as we count down to the number four,
Notice your breath.
Invite the depth of an inhale,
Perhaps bringing your spine long.
And then exhale,
Letting go.
Of anything you don't need.
Perhaps saying,
Not right now,
To judgment.
Percepts,
Setting aside,
Distraction.
Try breathing in for four counts.
Holding for four counts Releasing exhale.
And holding there.
For in.
For whole.
Four,
Out.
Moving to the number three.
Think of a short reminder.
Maybe it's a three word mantra.
When you notice your presence here,
When you sit and breathe with yourself.
What would you like to remind yourself?
One that I love to remind myself is to simply begin again.
If I get off track,
If I get distracted,
If something comes up.
Can simply begin again.
What's your three-word reminder?
Just repeat it.
And with the number two.
Can notice the opposites contained within us.
The left side of your body,
The right side.
Perhaps you can place a hand,
A palm.
On your leg,
Your knee.
Just pay attention to your left side,
Your right side,
And see if you can find the middle.
You can try the same with the front.
In the back.
Just observing.
The physical presence of your body.
Left,
Right.
Front,
Center.
Middle.
And with the number 1.
What is an intention?
What is one way of being that you would like to carry forward?
With whatever comes next for you.
Just one way of being.
One desire.
One path forward that you would like to pursue.
We've started these five minutes with our presence.
We practiced breathing on four counts.
Chose a three-word reminder.
Notice the two sides of our body.
To find a center and to set one intention.
