EFT Explained - What You May Experience During EFT Tapping
A short educational talk about common experiences people may have when practicing EFT tapping. Learn about “off-gassing,” the body’s natural way of releasing emotions through responses like yawning, crying, temperature changes, or burping. Understand how tapping can bring subconscious thoughts, memories, and feelings into awareness. This talk encourages you to stay present with whatever arises while practicing self-acceptance and compassion.

What might you experience as you start tapping?
This is an excellent question.
As we tap and we are accessing stored feelings,
Emotions,
Memories,
We can have a slew of different experiences and they're all okay and every person has a different response to tapping and sometimes you have a different response based on the tap that you're actually doing.
One of the most common things you might experience is called off-gassing and that's our body's way of releasing and processing what may have been stuck,
The stuck emotions,
The stuck memories,
The feelings that are going to come forward.
Off-gassing can look different for everyone.
For many people off-gassing can look like yawning so if you're ever tapping with me live or you see me on a video tapping and you see me yawning that's just my off-gassing process.
Some people cry,
A lot of people burp,
A lot of people think they're not going to burp and then as they start tapping they'll be like wow I actually I did burp I didn't think that would happen to me.
Some people's bodies will feel really cold,
Some people's bodies will get really hot,
All of our bodies will respond and release differently and just know that whatever is occurring for you is completely normal and I always tell my clients don't hold back so if you want to burp,
You want to yawn,
You want to emote in some way just let it rip.
This is exactly the place that you can and probably should be doing that.
The other thing that may happen as you tap is your subconscious beliefs will come forward into your conscious mind and this is one of my personal favorite parts about tapping.
We know that 80 to 90 percent of our thoughts are subconscious meaning we're not aware of them.
They are driving the show most of the time and most days and so if you've ever felt stuck or you've tried to make change and you can't quite figure out why it's not happening for you it's likely that there is a deep subconscious program running in the background.
As you tap these thoughts that pop into your mind are likely subconscious thoughts that are bringing themselves forward to be addressed,
To be healed,
To be analyzed.
So I always say if things are popping into your mind or feelings are coming up or memories are coming up for you as you're tapping this is actually amazing you don't want to skip over those you just want to stay with what is and what is coming up and what is present for you.
The big secret to tapping is just staying with what comes up with love and acceptance and so as we tap you'll hear me cue so frequently even though I'm feeling this way or even though this is happening I love and accept myself.
So as long as you're staying present with what is dousing it with love and acceptance you're doing tapping.
If anything comes up for you during your taps that you're not sure what's happening feel free to reach out to me I'm always happy to answer questions about the EFT process or your own tapping experience.
