Low.
Today we're practicing a very special breath.
If you're self-conscious,
This is one you might want to do in a space on your own where no one can hear you.
We are going to be making a little sound,
Nothing crazy.
This is called the humming breath or brahmari pranayama in Sanskrit.
This is an ancient yogic breath technique.
And it's very,
Very simple.
It's a great way to reset your vibrational frequency to help yourself relax and to calm your system.
So much in the way that cats purr,
When we hum,
It helps.
The energy of our bodies.
Kind of recalibrate vibrationally,
Which is.
.
.
Like cats are,
When cats purr,
It's at a specific tone and frequency that helps them recalibrate their bodies and their vibration.
So when we hum,
I would suggest not to think too much about the tone,
The level,
The pitch,
Whatever it might be.
You're just gonna let that hum come out of you however it wants to.
Your body is smart and it knows what it needs.
So again,
Very simple.
This one you can practice seated or lying down,
Especially if this is before bed and you really want to relax yourself.
You're gonna take a deep breath in through your nose.
Fill up into your ribs and then you're gonna exhale on a hum.
Very simple.
Just until you're out of breath,
And then you're gonna breathe in.
And again,
Hum.
You can close the eyes if you want.
Deep breath in,
Doesn't matter what it sounds like,
Okay?
Doesn't have to match my tone,
Probably better if it doesn't.
Deep breath in.
And as you're doing this,
Try to,
Even though you're humming,
As you breathe in and out,
Keep those lips as soft as you can.
Relax the face.
You're just breathing in.
You're humming out,
Very simple,
Very easy.
Focus your mind on the sound and the vibration.
Soften your eyes and their sockets.
Soften your shoulders back and down if you're seated.
And if you're laying down,
See if you can.
Soften yourself into that position even more with every exhale.
Taking a few more rounds here.
Hmm.
Keep it going,
About two or three more rounds.
Feeling that healing vibration moving through your body.
It's almost like you're singing yourself to sleep,
Kind of.
Alright,
One more complete breath.
Calm it out.
And when you are finished,
Just take a deep breath in through your nose.
And a deep breath out through your nose.
And then a deep breath in through your nose.
Energy breath out through your mouth.
Letting the jaw soften.
I hope that technique was useful for you.
I hope it helped you relax a little.
It's a great way to self-soothe anytime you're feeling anxious or stressed as well,
Especially if you're in a space.
That you can hum quietly and no one hears you.
I find it super soothing if I can use it in the car in traffic.
If I'm just like walking around and something's stressing me out,
But.
.
.
You know,
Within reason,
If you feel comfortable.
And you can also practice this breath for a short or long period as you would like.
Also a great thing to do in bed before you fall asleep to help you calm yourself down and relax.
I hope you have a great rest of your day and I'll see you soon.
