Arriving before the classroom.
Welcome to Mindful Transitions for Educators.
I'm Alexandra,
Mindfulness trainer and systemic coach.
This practice is offered as an invitation rather than an instruction.
You're always welcome to adapt it in whatever way feels supportive today.
You might take what is helpful,
Just leave the rest.
And remember,
You're always in charge of your own experience.
Let's begin.
Perhaps you're standing outside your classroom or maybe you have found a quiet moment before the school day starts.
However you have arrived here today.
I'm glad you've chosen to pause.
There is nothing you need to achieve in these next few moments,
Just arriving.
If it feels comfortable,
You might notice the feeling of your feet making contact with the floor.
Simply noticing that contact.
Allowing yourself to arrive.
Where you already are.
As you prepare to meet your class,
Your students,
I'd like to offer you a simple question.
Not a question to answer straight away.
Just one to carry with you.
How would you like to show up today?
Perhaps one word comes to mind.
Calm.
Curious.
Patient,
Present.
Kind.
Or maybe a different word that's meaningful to you.
There's no need to hold on to it.
Simply allowing it to gently guide you through the next part of your day.
Before we finish,
One final thought.
What quality would you like your students to experience when they are with you today?
Whenever you're ready,
Allow your awareness to include the space around you once again.
And when it feels right,
Continue with your day.
One class,
One conversation.
One moment at a time.
Small moments of presence can gently shape the way we teach,
The way we connect,
And the way we care for ourselves.
Until next time.
Take good care.
