Welcome dear ones.
My fellow love warriors and spiritual activists.
I invite you to find a posture that is easeful to your body right now.
You may choose to stand.
Sits.
Lie down,
Or even walk.
Whatever feels easeful to your body right now.
Whatever feels safe and supportive in this moment.
If you feel safe doing so,
You can close your eyes or simply lower your gaze to the earth.
Feel the points where your body meets the ground.
Or your chair.
Let yourself feel held and supported.
By our Earth Mother.
Surrender your weight to the earth body.
Recognizing that we all breathe the same air.
And we are all made of stars.
Take a moment to acknowledge the sacred elements that make up our bodies and the universe.
I invite you to connect with the earth.
Our steady foundation.
I invite you to connect with water.
Our blood,
Our tears.
And the fluid life force.
That runs in all beings.
I invite you to welcome the fire element.
The glowing embers of our heart center and our vitality.
Welcome in the air.
The breath that we share with all our plant sisters and non-human kin.
Before we go any further,
Let's call in.
.
.
Our ancestors.
Imagine.
Seven generations of ancestors standing behind you.
Parents.
Grandparents.
Great-grandparents.
Or your chosen guides.
Imagine them placing a gentle hand on your back.
Yes,
Friend.
We've got you.
Right here.
Next,
Imagine the seven generations to come.
Standing in front of them.
Anchoring our group.
In the deep continuum of time.
You do not do this work alone.
There's a long lineage resting their hands on their shoulders.
Their love is unending.
Now gently turn your attention toward the breath.
A simple sensation of air coming in.
And going out.
You're welcome to place your awareness wherever you notice the breath most distinctly.
Perhaps the tip of your nostrils.
From the rise and fall of your chest.
Or the movement of your belly.
If it helps you to feel more connected,
You can place a hand on your heart.
Or your abdomen to cultivate a felt sense of your own life force.
As you breathe in,
Know you are breathing in the same air.
As all are kin.
As you breathe out.
Recognize.
You are contributing to that great spiral.
Of unending.
Love.
Now you might direct awareness to your heart space.
Imagining a bright light.
For a warm fire burning.
Middle of your chest.
Now is the time to tap into your own joy.
As a radical resource for survival.
Activism.
Remembering that joy does not erase suffering.
That gives us the space and restoration needed to do the work of liberation.
As we sit,
Your mind may have a tendency to wander.
Perhaps to the past,
To the future.
This is natural.
Normal.
In fact,
You may feel the need to shift from your seat to open your eyes and look around.
Get up and walk.
And all of that is perfectly alright.
We do not need to judge.
Our needs.
When you do notice your mind is drifting.
You might treat that thought like a cloud.
Floating through a wide open blue sky.
Simply watch it pass.
And let it go.
As kindly as you would place your head.
On the shoulder of your loved one.
Invite your attention back to your next breath.
The breath is our home.
The practice is the return.
In this space,
There's nowhere to go.
Nothing to do.
No one to be.
We are simply meeting the moment.
As it is.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to change.
Just the breath.
You may remember that for many of our ancestors.
The breath for the sight of struggle.
In this practice,
We recognize that every mindful breath is an act of rebellion.
And of remembering our sacred right to exist.
We breathe.
For those whose breath was stolen.
I invite you to take one.
Deep.
Intentional breath.
All together.
Nurturing your entire being with light.
Rest in the Mesoamerican truth.
En lak'ech.
You are my other me.
Tú eres mi otro yo.
Our healing.
Is an act of communion.
Together we are building an infrastructure of collective liberation.
We do this work vale la pena because it is worth the effort.
For the sake of future generations.
Thank you for your practice,
Siblings,
Relatives,
Friends.
May we all see through star eyes today.
